So we are pretty dang broke this year and my DH was asking what I wanted for my birthday. At first I really wanted a zoom lens for my camera but that is not going to happen so I was thinking that a filter would be fun and not much money.

What do you think of this filter? Should I suggest something different? I have a Nikon D3100

Oh sure, try to make me look crazy. It won't work!!!

A better site for reviews is bhphotovideo.com. Best Buy isn't as reliable a source. I am trying to find these filters on B&H to see what my response is.

Here is their list of diffusion filters with before/after pictures. It seems to make the pictures blurry.

You might enjoy a neutral density or infrared since they allow different sort of pictures. I love my polarizing filter for making skies super blue.

LOL you make me laugh!

So I looked on the site, and it looks like all the filters are pretty expensive. Is this where you buy your equipment?

Sometimes, depends on what I am getting. I know that the people that buy stuff there tend to be more pros than not, so I like the reviews. I always check Amazon to see if they sell it because I get free shipping from there. They will often stock things that less specialized places do not.
