Okay so I'm still super sick with the flu but I wanted to update everyone. Went in today and my doctor asked me where we stand and I started crying and told her everything that has been going on. She said no more Clomid for me (it makes me crazy). We are going to try Femara this cycle and see how my body reacts to it at a pretty high dosage. I'm having a blood draw the day after my positive OPK and then a week after that to check my levels. I'm taking my prenatals, 5000mg folic acid, baby aspirin, and progesterone this cycle. If this cycle doesn't work I go back to see her in a month and we have 2 options....
Option 1:
Shut my body down for 6 months (basically put my body in a menopausal state) so that my endo will reverse and then hopefully after the 6 months my cycle will start back up and I'll be able to conceive quickly.
Option 2:
Start injectables with the trigger and be monitored with daily ultrasounds & blood draws and see how my body reacts to it.
I emailed DH when I got home from my appointment and his response was that I seemed happy/excited with my plan so he is on board. He however does not like option 1 at all and said before we go that route he would like to give my body a break and see if it/we can work our own miracle So this cycle I'm doing the femera and then we will go from there.

That sounds like a wonderful update and plan. I am glad your dr is so helpful Katie. I hope this cycle works and you don't have to do option 1.

Sounds good and I agree with your husband about the body shut down sounding scary. I don't know much about endometriosis though. I may not even know how to spell it correctly .

I'm glad it went well and that DH is on board, hope this next cycle you get a sticky bean and you won't even have to think about further options, but if you do its seems like your Dr. has a good plan for you. feel better!

Horray! Horray!!!!!! I read your post and got goosebumps. I feel like the femara is what you need! I know this is it for you Katie!
Get excited! Rest up and get ready for morning sickness!
Oh and option 1 is insane. I would not do that to yourself. But you won't need to worry about that because KATIE IS GETTING PREGNANT THIS MONTH!
HORRAY!!

I am glad they figured out some options for you. I definitely would not want to do number 1 though unless it was absolutely necessary. Hopefully this is your month though and you wont have to worry about it

It really does sound scary... even scarier while she's telling me that some women take awhile to start back to normal after it

I'm not exactly sure. She said they would give me an injection once a month for 6 months that would basically shut down all my hormones. She said I would get the symptoms of menopause (night sweats/hot flashes) and then after the six months they would give me something to start my period and watch how my body reacts. Here is what I found
Quote:
Gonadatropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH) Agonists— block the production of certain hormones to prevent menstruation, which slows or stops the growth of endometriosis, sending the body into a “menopausal” state.
* GnRH agonist is used daily in a nose spray, or as an injection given once a month or every three months.
* Most health care providers recommend that you stay on the GnRH agonist for about six months. After that time, your body will come out of the menopausal state. You’ll start having your period again and could get pregnant.
* After women stop taking GnRH agonists for six months, about 50 percent have some return of their endometriosis symptoms.
* These medications also have side effects, including hot flashes, tiredness, problems sleeping, headaches, depression, bone loss, and vaginal dryness.
Current research is exploring the use of other hormones in treating endometriosis and pain related to endometriosis. Some of these include GnRH antagonists, selective progesterone receptor modifiers, and selective estrogen receptor modulators, also known as SERMs. For more information about these hormones, talk to your health care provider.
Some women also have less pain from endometriosis after pregnancy, but the reason for this is unclear. Researchers are trying to determine whether it is because the hormones released by the body during pregnancy also lessen the growth of endometriosis, or if pregnancy causes changes in the uterus or endometrium that lessen the growth of endometriosis.

Thanks! The more I think about option one the scarier it sounds... so I'm pretty sure it is out of the question totally.
