i picked up some raspberry leaf tea that says its a uterine tonic....
will it actually help?

It should be OK for now but I don't think I would drink that while you are in the early stages of pregnancy. I think it can cause uterine contractions? Some websites say it doesn't. Maybe ask your doctor...

I was trying it after I was about 40 weeks to naturally induce labor. It was pretty gross. I don't like anything but regular ol' tea though haha.
