So, I started seeing an RE this month. After I used that Fertility Test for Women in December and it came back looking dark and FREAKED me out, I decided I should see what's going on with me. I also seem to have a boarderline short luteal phase. I had bloodwork and ultrasound done at cd4, an HSG performed midcycle, and DH's sperm analyzed. Today was result day.

Ultrasound of my ovaries showed follicles left over from the previous cycle but everything appeared normal. HSG showed my tubes and uterus looked fine although my uterus does have a slight curve to it. Dr said that should affect anything. Bloodwork is NORMAL. WOW, I thought for sure after that awful Fertility Test my FSH would come back high. Apparently not. Evil test. BUT the bad news is DH's sperm is a problem. I didn't get a copy of the analysis, I think i'll ask for one to do research on my own. They had the results for motility (which was low) but not morphology...that will be in next week. Dr talked about our options (do nothing, IUI, IVF). Our insurance doesn't pay for fertility treatments and we don't have much money to throw around. I have briefly looked at the JM board about Male Infertility and saw the crazy amount of supplements some of their DHs are taking. Holy cow.

Anyway, that's what's up with me. I'm relieved that we have an "answer" now....just wasn't a cheap one....

I am glad you got some answers too!!!

Do you think you might start taking supplements to extend your luteal phase?

Praying the morphology results come back great next week for you *huge hugs* I am sorry that the motility rate was not that good

I am sorry that you got bad news today but the good news is you now have an answer. I know that Kary (KaryRN) had some issues with DH's SA but I'm not sure what they found. I know sometimes they like to run a second one just to confirm the first ones findings.

Glad it was good for the most part! I also recommend a repeat after he does a few things, like boxers, lots of water and maybe some light supplements.

DH was borderline the first time, then they increased every time after that.

Happy that you have some answers. I am sorry about Dh's test results. Hopefully some changes can help with that.

I'm glad you got some answers. Hopefully a few minor changes/additions will help improve your DH's motility. Good luck!!!

Kristin, I'm glad that the tests on your end came back normal My DH had a couple of borderline low SA's, so I got him started on selenium, arginine, and zinc in addition to his prenatal, and it really seemed to perk up his counts. I really hope that you come up with a great plan for getting your BFP
