We had a MC at 7w in September 2010. Since then, my cycle has been totally irregular - ranging from 31 days to now I'm still waiting at 43 days. I was usually a pretty consistent 35 days before the MC, so now I'm not sure what to do. Is there anything a doctor can do at this point, or does anyone here have any tips on how to deal with this? I've never done any kind of charting before and this is the first time we've had to try to get pregnant for more than a month. I just feel like I don't know what I'm doing!

Any thoughts or tips would be welcome!

I don't really have much to offer, just wanted to say that my cycles used to be irregular, but I was underweight at 5'5" and 105 lbs. Now I'm a more-healthy 120 and my cycles are beautiful. Hopefully some other girls can be a little more helpful, just wanted to share what happened with me in case it could somehow help you.

I'm sorry for your loss.. I miscarried somewhere between 4 and 6 weeks back in July of 2009 (see ticker in siggy). That was my first pregnancy. I got pregnant on the pill (I forgot a few pills at the worst possible point in the cycle ovulated and caught that egg), so my cycles were.. artificial for lack of better term before that pregnancy. After the loss, my cycles was very bizarre and very frustrating. I was going consistently 2 or 3 months between periods and when I did get them, they'd be very light and only last for 2 or 3 days, much unlike my normal 28-30 day cycle and 3-4 day long medium/heavy flow periods. It took my body a whole year to regulate itself out. It kinda seemed like the repair happened really fast, like over the course of 2 or 3 cycles the year after the loss they were back to normal! Like I'd go from the 'usual' 2 month long cycle to the next cycle being almost a week shorter, and the next one being a week shorter than the previous and periods being heavier and so on until it fixed. I'm sorry I'm not reporting good news, but you're not alone!!

PS- I never charted. Too much stress and I found it kinda took the fun outta dtd. My body temps and things were all over the place, so my results were always inconclusive as it was. I gave up and now we are happily pregnant with our first baby after the Angel.

Sorry this ended up being so long!

After a loss your cycles can be altered until your body gets back to normal or you cycles can be permanently altered and that could be your new normal. I would suggest temping or using OPK's to know when your ovulating. I would also talk to your doctor about it if it continues to stay this way and see if they can give you something to alter it. Hugs it is frustrating when our bodies are out of whack.

I am so sorry for your loss! Sometimes it can take a little while for our bodies to get back on track. You could always call your doctor and see if there is anything he can do or any advice he has.

Hope they get back to normal for you. I'm still waiting for my first period and I have no idea what to expect.
