Alright so this may sound so strange but I've been thinking... So over the last year I have gained 30 pounds 20 pounds before my first loss (Sep 2010) and an additional 10 after! Do you think my weight gain could have caused my losses? I gained weight fast due to new job, new semester at college, and just stress.
Another question... Can sex cause a miscarriage? Well with my first loss 2 days after my BFP... DH and I had sex and I started spotting called the doc said it was okay well the bleeding didn't stop and I miscarried 5 days later. The exact same thing happened with my second loss... Had sex started spotting and never stopped bleeding and miscarried.
Now with my 3rd my HCG was all over the place so they gave me a shot of MTX to start the miscarriage...
I was just curious if anyone had an ideas, opinions, facts, personal experience with any of that. Thank you.

Welcome Kayla. I am very sorry for your losses.

Honestly no... I think when we have a loss we come up with a bunch of different reasons so we can "blame ourselves" when in reality there is nothing you could have done to prevent the losses.

I know there are several women who think that it can. And my doctor really won't give me an answer to this however, she did tell me that I will be on strict pelvic rest until 16 weeks when I get pregnant.. meaning no sex until that time.
Please don't feel stupid about asking questions. We have all been there ourselves and that's how we learn. We are here for you and if you have any questions please ask.

Sex causing miscarriages- depends on a lot of factors, in some with certain conditions it can, in others (probably the majority of society) it's safe.
As far as the weight gain- Has your diet changed? I gained 40 pounds in one year. My regular doctor of course just brushed it off to stress, bad diet (which I did not have) and really ignored it. My RE on the other hand saw the jump on my medical records questioned me about it, and then tested me, ended up diagnosing me with Hashimotos (hypothyroid). Its worth getting checked out at least. Because thyroid issues can cause fertility problems.

I agree with the other ladies. I also think that we try to find a way to blame ourselves for our losses.

Sorry ladies.. I go to class all day and work all night and only get on this on my iPhone... Haha I'm very busy.
But ive been thinking... A lot... I think well TTC next month. And no sex even if it's "safe" no risks. A child is a million times better than sex haha
And Katie... How do you handle 8 losses? I've only had 3 and I wanna give up. What keeps you going?!

Good luck TTC next month! I hope it brings you a sticky BFP!
As to what keeps me going... I still have good days and my bad days. On my bad days I do want to give up... BUT even then I know in my heart that I'm meant to be a mom. I don't want to have to go through another loss but I know my Rainbow baby is out there and at some point I will have a healthy pregnancy. The waiting sucks and the losses are heartbreaking but I will be a mom and make DH a dad.
The ladies of TTCAL have been my savior. I have seen so many of them go through h*ll and back and still keep pushing on and that in itself keeps me going too. It is hard don't get me wrong but the ladies here (myself included) will help you and be here for you every step of the way!
