Hi girls. I'm Lynsey, mom to an almost 5 year old and an almost 2 year old. I started having my m/c on Feb 23. I was 9w 2d along and it showed fetal demise at 7w. Well, the m/c was far harder than I ever thought it would be and I didn't quit bleeding until April 24 which was 4w 1d later! It took forever!! So, first of all, is that normal and have any of you had m/c that lasted that long? I seriously thought it was never going to end. SOOOOO - I talked to my ob and my previous ob and both of them said I would be okay to start trying after one cycle. Well, I started my period again yesterday which was exactly 2 weeks after my m/c ended. From the research I have done I thought it was supposed to take longer? It has turned out to be a super heavy period also. Is that normal after a miscarraige? It just feels like there shouldn't be anything left to come out after all of these weeks of bleeding. Do you know what I mean? Do you all think I'm okay to start ttc this cycle?

Sorry - I know I'm rambling. I just wish there was a "normal" and I fit into that "normal." LOL. I guess I'm just asking for any insight you may have.

Yes, mine took forever too. I was about the same time frame too. My first "normal" period was also insanely heavy, but I don't remember when it started.

I think you are normal.

I am not normal, but that's a mental thing.

Your so funny Courtney!

Hi Lynsey and Welcome to TTCAL. A pregnancy loss is very hard both physically and emotionally. I only waited until AF showed and we were TTC again. It seems like your doctors are on track with that time frame as well.

That first couple of AF cycles were really hard on me as well. Heavier and horrible cramping. As always, if it gets to a point where you are filling a pad an hour, please go to the Emergency Room.

Thanks girls. And yes Courtney, that made me laugh. There are plenty of areas in my life where I can't count myself as normal. LOL.

Hi and welcome! I am so sorry for your loss. I did not bleed that long but everyone is different. When AF returns is truly different for every woman. I think you are fine to go on to ttc again! Good luck!
