After TTC for over 3 years with no success and a diagnosis of endometriosis, my doctor wanted to put me on Lupron shots (which mimics menopause with all the not so fun side effects) to deal with it. Since my mother passed away in 2008 from cancer I am very hesistant of taking any chemical hormones etc.... that have the remote possibility of increasing my risk of cancer. I then decided to go see a naturopath to see what my options were. I absolutely love her. She is the best. She listens to me and really wants to know my thoughts about what is going on in my body. After not quite a year of treatments with her we finally got our BFP (the wait was planned to get my hormones balanced) only to lose our angel 10 weeks later.

I am now getting conflicting directions from my family doctor (who does not think highly of natural medicine) and my naturopath. Both are extremely happy with my progress but they are giving me different timelines as to the amount of time to wait before TTC again.

Any suggestions??? My gut tells me to go with the naturopath since I have alot of confidence in her.

I would go with your gut.

I also am hesitant to use too many chemicals because the human body is complicated and they cannot know everything and every side effect.

I tend to adversely react to medication prescribed by the doctor. I wouldn't even take the painkillers that were prescribed for my D&C.

I am definitely leaning towards the advice of the naturopath. I will talk to DH about it when I get home tonight.

It seems to me like naturopaths/homeopaths and your typical doctors never really see eye-to-eye. Docs think naturopaths are witch doctors or that their remedies aren't good enough, while naturopaths think docs force a lot of unnecessary chemicals into people's bodies when using more natural fixes will be better, healthier, and safer. It's really all up to you. I agree though, go with your gut. There's no real right answer here.

After reading Stacey's post about her doctor not listening to her needs it made me realize how much different it is to see the naturopath. She actually wants to know how I feel....not just the symptoms but in general...am I happy, sad,etc...

The naturopath says one more cycle and we are good to go and she has me taking folic acid and watching my diet to prepare.

Go with the naturopath!!! My sister sees an acupuncturist for some serious endo type symptoms with her period...and has really, really postive results. I also had the pleasure of a naturopahtic doctor living in my house for 4 months last year, and using the knowlege she gave me, I firmly believe it was responsible for my most recent pregnancies and a reduction of my kidney disease from "moderate" to "mild". As for my pregnancy losses...i think they're due to clotting, which you do need medical intervention for, but for the getting pregnant part...she was invaluable.

Naturopathic medicine sees the body as a whole - and instead of reactively treating a conditino, they (like traditional Chinese Medicine) strive for getting the body in balance so it can operate cleanly and naturally, the way it should. Their opinion of disease is an imbalance, and once you get the body balanced, things fall into place.

Its extremely powerful - I even had a tooth straighten out in the fall after I did a serious detox and cleanse under her supervision - it had started to shift out of place when during my diagnosis of kidney disease, and now its back into place. The reasoning behind that is that our teeth coorespond to different body parts/organs...and the tooth that moved was in line with my kidney function. As my kidney function improved, my tooth moved back. It hurt like the dickens, but it moved. Very odd.

I know I'm babbling...but just wanted to bring it up because its SO powerful.

I'll also agree with the other ladies - go with your gut
