UPDATE: I ended up in the ER last night because it became worse. They had me hooked up to all sort of monitors because the triage nurse said my BP was really low. They did an EKG and I'm having Heart Arrhythmia. The doctor thinks it is due to stress/anxiety and started me on wellbutrin (sp) and he is referring me to a cardiologist to cover basis (they should be calling today to schedule my appt). Oh yeah and he gave me some sort of shot in me bum to help me *relax* before he sent me home and I haven't had it since So not what I wanted to hear but at least I'm getting relief.
I have been having heartburn for over a week straight. I go to bed with it, wake up with it and have it all day long I've tried Tums, Alka-Seltzer, Maalox, Pepto, Gaviscon, Mylanta, milk, coke, flat coke, nothing seems to even faze it. Anyone have any other suggestions?
I know I *should* go to the doctor but I really don't want to go pay a co-pay and see my family doctor right now... he is a horses butt and we are looking into another family doctor for DH and myself.

I've heard that Zantac works for a lot of people. I've never had it that bad though so I don't know from personal experience. I hope you can find a good doctor soon and you can find a solution for the bad heartburn!

Prilosec OTC! It used to be prescription only but now you can get it OTC, I think its a little more expensive but it works. I know several people who use for chronic heartburn. Hope this helps!

I'm actually leaving work to pick up some. I can't hand much more of this.... last time it was this bad was when I was 12 weeks pregnant with my first angel.

Ditto! Mike takes it along with his prescription stuff for his acid reflux. It works excellent!

I hope you're able to find something that helps. I take prescription meds twice a day for GERD, so I know how miserable it is to deal with this crap! Praying the Prilosec works!

Nothing is working. Ugh DH just went and got me ice cream because my chest feels like it's on fire and pressure on it.

Sounds crazy but pepermint may work....warning though it could possibly make it worse. I used to melt peppermints in water when I was PG for DD then cool it down and drink it to get rid of my heartburn.

My mom is such a worrier so I'm going to the walk in clinic tomorrow morning. She is worried it's more than heartburn because it *HURTS* pretty badly to breath... I can breath fine just it hurts to. So I'm going in at 6am (hoping its not busy cross your fingers) and I will update when I can.

Here is a home remedy that works for my dad. Take a spoonful of baking soda in some water. It nuetralizes the acid.
