Acne and the MTX shot?

I have never had acne like this before and I'm wondering if the MTX shot had anything to do with it since it didn't start until then... I feel so unattractive.

I finally made an appointment with a Dermatologist for this Thursday.

Hopefully he can help me get this under control!

I got the MTX shot in Feb... I got acne, I lost hair (like chunks) and right when they gave me the shot I felt like someone punched me at the shot area. It was the worst thing ever. Good idea about going to the dermatologist.

I've never heard of the MTX shot. What is it?

One thing that I've found really helps with acne is tea tree oil. You can get it at Wal-Mart or a health food store. Word of caution though...it only takes a tiny bit. It's pretty pungent stuff. I apply a little to any problem area with a q-tip and then wash my hands carefully so I don't accidentally get any in my eyes or anything.

Sorry you're having to deal with it too.

And you're right about the hair thing too!! My hair is definitely not like it was before.

I also had the lack of appetite which was good for me, but also my body was so sensitive to touch. Almost to the point of actually being painful.

I am thankful for this drug as it saved my life, but the long lasting side effects are awful.

Methotrexate is a medication that stops the growth of rapidly dividing cells, such as embryonic, fetal, and early placenta cells.

I was given 2 shots, 1 in each butt cheek for my Cervical Ectopic at 6 weeks in November 2010.

Thank you for the advice. I'll grab some when I'm at Wal-mart tonight.
