If having a m/c wasn't bad enough, why do we also have to suffer through weeks of nasty hair issues (loss, dryness, breakage), acne and sensitive skin, and water retention/weight gain after a loss? Add to that lovely mood swings, sadness, lack of motivation, exhaustion... and whatever other hormonal whammy our bodies decide to throw at us.

I mean, its bad enough to have a loss, but why can't our bodies just be nice and give us a few weeks of lovely skin and hair just to sort of pad the sadness? And then give us a ton of energy so we at least can do things to keep our minds off what happened? Wouldn't that be fair?

Sorry. Venting. I usually have great skin and my hair has JUST started to grow and get strong (years of the undiagnosed kidney disease and eating wrong/exercising too much made my hair thin, brittle and slow growing)..and now, I'm shedding as much as my dogs. WAHHH. I know I should be worried about more important things, but I'm feeling particularly vain today, mostly because my breakouts are on my chest as well as my face, and I only have so many high cut shirts (maybe 2) and none of them are warm weather friendly.

On a good note, I am feeling much better than I did after my loss in December, I think it might be because my hormone levels were on their way down, fast, well before I had the D&C this time. Last time, I had the D&C when the levels were still super high, so I think the shock to my system was much greater.

Ok. I feel better now. I'm going to the gym with the hopes that sweating will keep all those hormones a-movin out...

Have you even been checked for PCOS? What you described is MANY of my symptoms from when I was diagnosed. I am sorry your having to go through all of this especially after going through a loss. I know it was horrible. HUGS!

I know what you mean! I miscarried and then 2 days later started lactating. I didn't even know that was possible! I had a blighted ovum diagnosed at 7 weeks and a day, and then took a drug to induce the miscarriage finally at just about 12 weeks, and I lactated!! Craziness. ACNE! Grr... you're right about that one. I think it's finally settling down now. I get it on my back and shoulders and face. Fun fun. Good thing the sun is getting warmer and I can tan it off (hopefully!) Hormones are no fun either... But that too seems too be getting better. Yesterday and today my temps are finally preO temps for me too. Hoping that means Oing comes quickly.
I'm just over 3 weeks from my miscarriage.

I was diagnosed with PCOS 10 years ago - but subsequent bloodwork has shown that everything has gone back to normal. Very wierd. I had been in training for an ultramarathon at the time, so my whole body went wacko, so I'm not sure if my hormones were just part of it. The docs put me on desogen for a few years and spironolactone, but I went off the bcp 5 years ago and my body actually normalized really well - even more so after I started synthroid last year.

I will definitely ask for additional bloodwork when I go in for my follow up after my D&C next week. Its worth a shot to see if its reared its ugly yead...and if it has anything to do with the recurrent losses. I don't seem to have a problem with getting pregnant though. Or so I have not lately! I hope that trend keeps up

It's good that you're able to worry about things like your hair and acne I mean it's not good that you have those problems, no fun, but I'm glad you're able to take stock of things like that. It'd be sadder if you sat around in a hoodie all day and didn't shower, didn't care at all. Like I said in your last post, I hope you get some solid answers from all these tests, and that you can figure out a plan, move forward, and meet your rainbow baby!
