I think AF is here....only 10 days after my D&C. Is this possible? It doesn't seem like residual blood from the surgery, in fact, I had only one day of mild brown spotting the day after...and no cramping, so having sudden bleeding seems a little unusual. And its definitely red, not brown...which I'd expect from a D&C.

There's no odor (sorry if TMI!) and no fever or elevated temp, so I'm pretty sure that its not an infection, but it just doesn't seem biologically possible for AF to be here so soon.

I'll call my doc in the morning to make sure that this is normal....I have my follow up on Thursday but I'll just check.

I'm hoping its AF though! Getting my body back on track extra fast would be an unexpected gift!

I could be left over from the D&C (my doctor said she didn't get everything out because she didn't want to scar my uterus) or it could be AF. Anything is possible after a m/c. Our bodies have so much going on that they all act differently but I would mention it to you doctor and also see where your betas are.

It could be either. With my D&C I would go a few days of light to next to no bleeding, and then it would start up again red. Like Katie said, we all react differently to it, so I'd give your doctor a call and see what he/she has to say. Good luck!

I agree with the other ladies. With my last d&c in March I had couple of days of spotting then nothing then a lot of bleeding. I still haven't had my af. My numbers aren't down to 0 yet.

I don't think it's your AF...I had bright red bleeding 3 weeks after my D&C and was told it was AF...The bleeding got really bad over the next 12 days and I ended up in the hospital needing another D&C and had to get 2 blood transfusions...Please be careful...It's too soon for you to get AF after a D&C...I think if your still bleeding in the next few days and/or you start to bleed heavy, please go in and be seen....I was told if your bleeding 2 weeks after a miscarriage you need to be seen...I hope it's nothig, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Yeah, I thought it was a little early for AF as well, I'm not sure its even possible this soon after a D&C. There's not much going on today, so it looks like post D&C discharge, but last night I certainly felt AFish....a little crampy and back pain.

I did POAS this morning and there was still an extremely faint line, so there's still hcg in there, so that also makes me think that its not AF yet at this point.

I'm calling my doc today, but I do have my appt on Thursday so he may wait for then to check things out. I'll let you all know what he says.

Thank you for the support ladies!

I read that you have to have 20 days of no bleeding for it to be considered AF??
