Hello,

Last year i had a missed abortion. It was horrible. Me and my man were so happy to go to ultrasound together. He was there for the first time hoping to see his kid. He did but the heart wasnt beating. Well now we are trying again. I still have no idea why it happened and what did i do wrong. Maybe i didnt take the right vitamins. Well i have a rh negative blood also..partner has positive, but i doubt that was the deal because it was too early in pregnancy. I was supposed to be 12 weeks preg. but the baby was only 8 weeks along with its development. Well thats why im here. Maybe you ladies can share some facts, tips how to avoid this from happening again.

Thanks and good luck

Hi and Welcome! I'm sorry for your loss! Please don't blame yourself! You did nothing wrong. Early losses are not uncommon. and missed ones are also not uncommon because so many doctors don't see patients till they are 10-12 weeks.
The rH issue shouldn't come into play until you deliver, it has more to do with blood crossing, which doesn't happen while you are pregnant.

As far as avoiding it happening again... there really isn't a clear answer to that. Best you can do is take care of yourself, be as healthy as possible to make the best possible environment for your future baby.

I am sorry for your loss. I agree with the other ladies. Please do not blame yourself. As far as how to avoid it... what I recommend is setting up an appointment with your OB. Make a Pre-Pregnancy appointment. They might do BT on you and/or your SO. Also make sure your taking prenatal vitamins and eating right.

I am also Rh negative and DH is positive. It should not be an issue as others have stated. With DD I had a rogham (sp??) shot at 20 weeks and one again after she was born but the doc's explained that it was to protect future pregnancies.

With my loss they gave me the shot when I started spotting but it didn't help and I ended up having a D&C at 10 weeks.

I agree with the others and you can't blame yourself for you loss. Take good care of yourself and be positive. Hopefully you have a healthy baby soon.

I am sorry for your loss. I agree with the other ladies. I also have RH negative blood and my husband positive blood type. I got Rhogam shot during my pregnancy and at the time I delivered my still born baby. This will help future pregnancies so that your body does not reject the baby growing in you.

Please dont blame yourself. I randomly will blame myself playing the "what if" game meaning "what if" I did something different? Etc. But truly we can't stop it...

I'm sorry for your losses.
