I am feeling so much better today, I hope it means the shot worked and no surgery for me.
I never would have imagined a ectopic to be this way. It is like a miscarriage but tripple your pain while its passing and add about 4 more days of pain to it, Oh and add more fear of your life to the mix.
I want more than anything to just have 1 more baby but not I am a little freaked out by this. I am still up in the air on what to do next. I dont know if i need a follow up with my DR or what. Right now we are doing HCG draws to make sure my levels are dropping.
I am having period like bleeding and cramps but that is about it. DR also said since this is a little different than a miscarriage I can use a tampon WOOHOO why am I so excited to be able to use a tampon? LOL I think 6 weeks with pads caffing my rear a tampon is welcome news..lol
So right now I am happy the pain is slowly going away because the rest of my week I am pretty busy. I am just so confused as to what the plan next is. I wonder how long he is going to want me to wait?

Ectopic is way different than a miscarriage as far as the pain, in my experiences too.
I'm glad you're feeling somewhat better and are bouncing back... you have a sense of humor which is a good sign Glad that you're doing so well.

Lindsey, I am so glad you are feeling better. I hope this is over now and you don't need the surgery. I would call and schedule a follow up, even if it is not medically needed you should go in and have all your questions answered so you can have piece of mind moving forward. Thanks for updating, I was wondering how you were doing!

So glad you are doing better! I agree, you should just call to make a follow up appointment. They can help you figure out if/when you can start TTC again, etc.

So glad you are feeling better! And definitely follow up with your doctor, it would be good to make sure there was no damage to your tube. One ectopic though shouldn't prohibit or change TTC.

Lindsey, I'm so glad to hear this. Your pain going away is a great sign that the shot probably worked perfectly. Since you caught it really early I think you have a great chance at having little to no damage to your tube. Try to take it easy even though you have a lot of stuff to do this week, rest up and heal!!
You might want to do a HSG to test for your tubes being clear, but it might not be worth it, also. You've had enough intrauterine pregnancies that you know your tubes are probably overall in good shape. I will tell you though that the next pregnancy after the ectopic is scary as heck though. Your chances of a repeat ectopic are about 10x higher than your ectopic risk beforehand, ~10% instead of 1%. But that's still 90% chance that it would be fine. That's just bulk statistics for all ectopics, your doctor might have a personal prediction based on his feel for your risk factors, your history etc (I imagine with multiple prior intrauterine pregnancies your risk might be a lot lower)
Also, I was told to wait until I had had 3 normal cycles before starting to try again. This was for dating purposes, since they want you to notice right away when your period is late and take a preg test, that way they can check you out for a repeat ectopic ASAP. I did not listen to this, my cycle was irregular and I used OPKs to know when I ovulated, than ICs starting at 10 DPO so obviously I had no trouble catching the next pregnancy early on. They do not always tailor their advice for us POAS addicts

My goal is to get the all clear to start again in July. And my DR and nurses know I am a POAS addict because they keep asking how the heck I find out so early I am pregant...lol Plus I have MTHFR so I am supposed to test early to get on blood thinners as soon as possible. After my D&C and last miscarriage he told me no reason to wait but I would guess he wants me to wait at least 1 full cycle this time and I plan on doing just that. I think 3 pregnancys in a row with no A/F can not be good on your body.

Lindsey I'm glad your starting to feel better and I hope that means the shot working. I think letting your body go one cycle would be a good idea as well so that you can let it have a break.

I'm glad that you're starting to feel better! I'm still so sorry that you have to go through this again, and in an even worse way. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

I had a real early ectopic too, did not even need the shot. My levels got to only 100 or so, and came down really fast. I had a large mass on the OUTSIDE of my tube, so it never implanted in the tube. But the pain was more intense than a normal m/c, I agree!
Glad to see your spirits are up today, and praying your body heals nicely and gets ready for the next sticky bean! Waiting a cycle is tough, but your right.....your body needs to build up a nice lining again and give your next baby a great start! The HSG would be a great thing to get done, if your able too before that cycle.......Good luck sweety!!

I'm glad you are doing better. I'm so sorry you're going through this! As for the tampons... I used them during my m/c and my ob didn't blink an eye. For me, wearing a pad was just too emotional, because I could feel everything leaving my body, and was thinking about it constantly. I know, kind of weird, but I don't think I could have held up emotionally unless I had inserted a tampon.
