Finally Made a Decision

Well after our last RE appointment and the feeling of hopelessness that came along with it, my hubby and I decided to sit down and have a full on discussion regarding our next move. Our questions included:

Should we consider IVF?
Should we get a second opinion?
Should we wait and see what that brings, or just give it a break?
Should we just give up?
Etc�

Of course there were a lot of deciding factors for us�including income, cost, extremeness, desire to have a child, and where we stand with us wanting this. We have decided that because it has been 3 years with no baby and one miscarriage, we do not want to wait any longer. We are going to do IVF, and we could possibly have our BFP sometime in August (here is praying to God that it happens). The package we are doing includes 2 tries�one with fresh embryos and one with frozen if the fresh cycle does not work. I think they will do 5 total from what she told us, so we could do 3 the first cycle and 2 the next or vice versa, depending on what we want and if it produces a pregnancy or not.

We also qualify for something called �Compassionate Care,� which covers all costs with the injectable medications. All pills are covered by insurance. So basically not that much out of pocket, because it is all covered by the package, which is good. The financing for the IVF also has great interest rates and terms, kind of like buying a car, which is even better because it is affordable for us this way.

Anyway, here is hoping to God this plan turns out and that we get our baby. I want this heaviness out of my heart and my baby in my arms. If all goes well from here, our only next problem will be how many embryos to transfer, which I can already say my husband does NOT want multiples and I would be happy with twins. Lol. So we will see.

Also, I wanted to thank everyone on here for being so supportive with me. I do not have any support from my family (except for my hubby), and it means so much to me. It is really nice to know that I am not the only one feeling this way at times (it helps me feel less crazy, lol)

I am so happy that you and your Dh were able to sit down and talk about this. Sounds like you and your Dh have a good plan. I will keep everything crossable that the IVF gives you your rainbow baby.

I am so glad that you and your DH could sit down and have a discussion about this and come to a deciding factor. I pray that you get your rainbow bab(ies) in the very near future and get to hold them crying, giggling and wiggling in your arms. I will stalk you until then

I am so glad you and your DH got to sit down and talk about things. I think that plan sounds like a wonderful idea and I hope your BFP is just around the corner... and remember we will ALWAYS be here for you no matter what!

Wow! Your post gave me the biggest smile! I feel like there's been so much heartache going on, not just on TTCAL but everywhere and your post showed a ray of hope and positivity! I think your plan is perfect and I'm so glad you two were able to really communicate about everything. It's so important. Good luck with the IVF! I am so glad you were able to come to a decision. Your plan sounds wonderful. I pray that you get lots of beautiful embies and you get a sticky bfp on the first try!! You're in my thoughts and prayers!

Oh you ladies brought tears to my eyes!

My hormones must be screwed up because AF is close.

I hope to god we get our BFP our first try. I think I am going to push for 3 embryos the first try, even though my doctor recommends 2. I just want more of a chance, you know?

I am so glad that you and your DH was able to sit down and discuss what you wanted to do. It sounds like you have a great plan. I am rooting for you getting your BFP soon via the IVF.

I am super happy for you!! The decision to go the medical assistance route is a tough one. ((hugs)) I hope you get pregnant your 1st try! Hang onto that hope that is showing through in your posts.

Oh ladies, I feel so optimistic today, it does not feel real. With my anxiety, I always have a bad feeling. Not now for some reason. I am so excited--even going as far as to window shop for baby stuff. I know there is a chance that it will not work though, so why am I setting myself up for failure?

I did get the call that we got approved for financing, so I guess it really is happening.
