I did post about my Dr putting me on Birth Control because my spotting did not stop after my miscarriage... I did tell my Dr that I did want to TTC also.... But I was curious if someone is on the same boat as me? Anyone was told to start Birth Control for a couple month?

I did not have to go on birthcontrol pills after my m/c. It may be that you needed to perhaps regulate the spotting and as well as your period to get into rythm.

Its pretty common after a m/c to go birth control to get your cycle normal again. I know 2 months seems like a lot, but it will help you get your body ready for a healthy pregnancy again. They also say that when you suspend your ovulation for a couple of months, you increase your chance of conceiving quicker!

Good luck!

After my first miscarriage that dr put me on a very low dose birth control.... for 6 months.
I quit and got my BFP with my only sticky baby that first month.
I have almost thought about trying it again. But I just found out I have PCOS and it could really mess me up.

Sorry but it makes no sense to me to go on birth control just because of the spotting. I would question that.
If you don't stop bleeding/spotting in a reasonable amount of time after the miscarriage, it can be a sign that the miscarriage wasn't complete. Did the dr do an internal ultrasound when you told him you were still spotting?

I have to agree with Judy. Adding hormonal birth control pills when your hormones are perfectly capable of regulating themselves, is just silly. I am certainly no doctor, but I would be questioning any doctor that prescribes BCP to a woman who wants to TTC. It is counterproductive and I believe that the human body was designed, in most cases, to do what it needs to do. Did your doctor follow your HCG down to zero?

BCP can screw up your body and make it hard for you to concieve for awhile or it can make you more fertile so I see this as a double edged sword. My doctor would really have to talk me into it for me to do it.

Hey Servilia,
When I had my mc I did have an internal us and the results showed that everything was clear....
I've actually been spotting for 6 weeks after MC and when I started on the BCP on Fri the spotting has gotten significantly better.... I'm a bit excited about that...

Hi Twoboysmaybemore,
My HCG level is down to zero and the US came out clear.... I was so over spotting for 6 weeks so I agreed to just try for a month (he wanted me to try for 2 months) yikes...
So far so good though....
