So three weeks after miscarriage I thought I was doing ok. Well, my DH and I were driving through a parking lot and saw chihuahua puppies for sale. I begged him to stop and I saw the sweetest little brown one that I HAD to have. I didn't even think about it, I was writing a check and five minutes later we had a new puppy! This is our third chihuahua! I coulnt believe that my DH didn't put up a fight, I know it was just because he knew how much the miscarriage hurt me. I have to say, this sweet little baby has really helped take my mind off of everything.

I didn't do anything different, but I am not an excitable person, in general.

Both of our dogs were bought right after a loss So I have to say that yes I did too. I also decided to start my photography business at the spur of a moment.

Oh my gosh, we also got another dachshund after our loss. We now also have 3 dogs--2 dachshunds and 1 pit bull. It's a full house here! I cried when I saw him and I had to have him. He was a rescue and so abused. So yes, you are not alone!

I told DH if I can't pregnant within another year I want another puppy. I have to admit I was looking online after my loss. Dogs can definitely fill a void, I am glad he is helping you cope. I don't think it's crazy at all!

I told DH (while I was still pregnant) that if I had another m/c I would get my tubes tied because I was going to take it as a sign that I wasn't meant to have anymore kids. Well, I had another m/c BUT I didn't go through with the tubal. I'm glad that I didn't!!!

I bought a car. To be fair, we were kind of already looking for one because I was driving a mustang and when I found out I was pregnant in April we started looking seriously. After I lost the baby, we decided that we still wanted to go through with buying the car because we had our hopes up and were excited about it. We just bought a little sooner than we would have otherwise.

If getting a new puppy for me was an option, I would have so rather gotten another little dog. But the two I have are not very friendly with other dogs so I think it would be more of a headache than a pleasant distraction.

Puppies are a great idea, I'm sure I would have gotten one right after the M/S if I had seen one. Lucklily I didn't LOL... DH did get a cherry and a sour cherry tree planted in our yard since he knew I'd wanted fruit trees for so long, but that was about it in terms of crazy decisions

Well... we decided to make a conscientious effort to have another baby. My last pregnancy was a surprise. We had been toying with the idea, but didn't really seem certain about it. Finances are tight, our house is small, etc etc etc... all the common reasons why someone wouldn't be able to justify another baby. PLUS... he's 42 and I'm almost 40. We were so insanely excited to be pregnant before, and so upset when I miscarried, we decided right away that we have already made room in our hearts for one more. I'm just hoping we can fill that space with a baby in our arms.
