My doctor gave me the OK to start trying again when Im read. Ive read a lot on here about being advised by your doctor to wait until after your first menstrual period, among other things, are there any medical reasons why you've been advised to wait, or is it just so that they can date the pregnancy better? It took us a year the first time, so i kind of feel like i want to start right now he said i healed well and that it should be fine this time. In a way its like im afraid of it happening again but i would really love to start my family. Anyone have any advice?

My midwife said that there was no real medical reason that I would need to wait but I miscarried naturally so I don't know if there might be a difference if you had a d&c. If you are ready emotionally and your doctor gave the ok you should go for it! I know how you feel since it took us 14 months to conceive as well good luck!

I had d&c's and while they said to wait until AF shows for dating purposes they also said they would not be sad if I showed up pregnant before that.

If you are emotionally ready then go for it! Good luck.

We are TTC right after a m/c also. I was told that there wasn't a medical reason to wait, so we chose to go ahead and continue to try. GL!!

My OB told me that statistically there is a 4% greater risk of miscarriage if you get pregnant in the first 12 weeks following a miscarriage. She didn't say we couldn't TTC right away, just recommended we take that statistic into consideration, and said that if we wanted the best possible chance of a healthy pregnancy the next time, she would recommend waiting for 3 cycles.
