I'd first posted on here in Sept. 2010 after a M/C at 7 wks, and everyone was so supportive!

DH and I first started TTC in July 2009 — so it's been nearly two years of DTD with heart breaking results. Yesterday I was on the verge of tears the whole day, since it was father's day, about our situation.

This a.m., I got two BFPs.

After our MC, DH had varicocele repair surgery (in Dec. 2010). His 6 month results came back in May and his count went from below avg to avg. Could that be the reason for the BFP? Or maybe it was 11 mons of DTD, and just timing? I dunno.

But I do know I am completely freaked out. I know I should be happy, but I just feel like crawling in bed and waiting for doom.

any advice for how to calm the fears and stay positive?

First I wanted to say congratulations on your BFP. I cannot say for sure but my feeling is that it can have something to do with your DH repair surgery and timing. It is not easy to not fall back on the what ifs on the negative side and I have been there plenty of times and I am working hard at not to go there with my thoughts by thinking of positive outcomes (easier said than done for sure). After our loss in Oct 30 2009 we have not had any positive results other than regular timed AF. Now we are waiting on our first consultation with a fertility clinic to see why we are having such hard time to concieve. I am hoping your fears will settle and you can find peace in the situation.

I would take it day by day...
I think to myself how I would react to a BFPand truthfully I would think that it may be an outcome of "Doom" but you can't think of it like that.... (we all can't think of it like that....)
Be happy about it and think positive.... It's always best to talk about your thoughts and feelings.... We're here if you need to vent.... Makes things a tad better....

I agree with the above posts. I would just take it day by day and try to stay positive. I'm so happy for you. Congratulations on your BFP and I hope you have a wonderful pregnancy.

Congratulations! I got pregnant in march, the same month my DH had his varicocele repair (I was pregnant before the surgery it was just too early to know). That was after 14 months of trying. We were so excited and then I miscarried a little after 9 weeks. I am really hoping that the surgery worked and it doesnt take so long to conceive again and that it will be a successful pregnancy next time. I really hope your pregnancy sticks. Try to enjoy it, I know I will be a nervous wreck next time I get pregnant too.

Congrats on your BFP. Try to enjoy every second of your pregnancy and remember that this is a new pregnancy and things are different.
