Friday the 10th I found out my baby lost his hb. It happened exactly 2 years and 1 days after our last loss and the babies both were the same age give or take a few days. Anyways, we choose to be induced to see the baby (we named him mason James) and to avoid a d&e. Well after 6 days of pain and Absolutly no bleeding I headed back to the dr and was informed they needed to do a d&c to removed tissue that was left over... Blah...
That brings me to today. I feel like crap... My whole body hurts so weird but I guess I fought the Meds they used to me under. And my dh is waiting to find out if he has to go back to afghanistan or if the army is going to extend his emergency leave.
Now the questions... My dr is going to do send me to a high risk specialist to do tests, but what kind of tests? Both losses occured at over 13 weeks and I've already carried a pregnancy to full term without problems so why is this happening? Is it a problem with boys? I know you all probably can't answer these questions but it's making me a bit crazy...the dr said it may be nothing that we could just get pregnant again and have no issues but I don't think I could carry another baby, see it growing, hear the heartbeat and then have it disappear again. I also requested to see a thyroid dr, I've had tests done before and they say I'm 'normal' but what if my normal is not the same as everyone else's normal?
Ok sorry about the long post! Oh yeah, how long did they tell you you had to wait before ttc again?

I'm sorry for your loss!
Your questions are hard to answer, if even really possible to answer. A specialist may do a genetic test on you and your DH to see if their is a chromosomal issue, or if there is something else that is causing you to m/c. Your best bet is just to go in and talk to them, and see.
Is there a reason you think your thyroid is off? If you have indicators that it is, most specialist will automatically run a panel to make sure.

Unfortunately carrying a baby to full term, does not definitely say there are no problems. Secondary Infertility unfortunately is not uncommon.

((HUGS)) I am very sorry for your losses. As far as TTC usually the doctor says to wait one cycle for dating purposes but if you feel ready you can try at any time. Your body will not get pregnant if it's not ready. As far as tests there is a whole panel of blood work for recurrent m/c. I'm not exactly sure what all it is they test for but I've had it done. Another thing they may test for is for MTHFR (clotting disorder). It really depends on your doctor as to what they test for. Please let me know if there is any other questions I can answer for you.

My heart broke for you when you found out the news about baby number 2. What a horrible thing to lose two at exactly the same point in the pregnancy I think the pp's answered your questions as well as any of us could... there is no telling what they might find (if anything), and I definitely think it is worth going through the testing in case there is a specific reason you are miscarrying. Thinking of you

I am so very sorry for your losses. If I were you I would definitely get the testing done. It may give you some insight into your losses. Some of the things they test for- like MTHFR- are fairly easily treated. One of the versions is treatable with a baby aspirin. The other is treated with an injectable blood thinner and could help you to achieve another full term pregnancy. I hope you get some answers. My heart breaks for you.

I am so sorry for your loss.

One very common reason could be MTHFR or some other clotting problem (I have this and also have a live birth, DR said she just got lucky and never formed a clot). There could be genetic problems.
