So I had my midwife appointment today to talk about my labs and set up a "Game Plan".

Well it went pretty well.

I dont get to start TTC next month like we wanted... We actually have to wait 3 months.

So my lab results showed I had insulin resistance... My insulin levels are way too high... So she prescribed me Metformin and I have to start the South Beach Diet because its so low in carbs and this is the only way to bring down my insulin. I think lowering my carbs (in the first 2 weeks I get no carbs or fruit!) is going to be a very hard challenge. Carbs are my favorite foods, but I will change my habits to get closer to my rainbow baby. I have to set up another appointment end of September to recheck my insulin and if its low we can start TTC.

Also my panel to do with blood disorders came back slightly abnormal... only by like 2 points. So she is going to think about if when I do fall pregnant to prescribe me Lovenox and or another blood thinner. I am going to beg her to prescribe it to me, I mean I just want EVERYTHING as normal as possible. I dont want "2 points" cause another miscarriage. (If that's the problem)

My progesterone is low also.

So summary is... I must get my insulin down by the end of September, when I do fall pregnant I start progesterone 2 days after ovulation and maybe a blood thinner.

In the mean time, I will be tracking my ovulation with OPKs so I get a very good idea and working on my diet, exercise and pretty much changing my lifestyle.

I am bummed I have to wait 3 months but... if its for my rainbow baby I will do ANYTHING!

So good that you have a game plan now though and a doctor that very obviously cares for you and wants to help! For the next three months you focus on you, and stick to the diet. You'll have your rainbow baby in your arms in no time.

Sounds like an awesome plan. I would have a hard time waiting 3 months too but hopefully all the changes you are making will allow your next pregnancy to be healthy and perfect.

Sounds like you have an excellent midwife I know three months seems like a long time to wait, but at least you have a concrete plan. I always feel better with a plan!

Sounds like a great plan. Yes waiting three months will be a challenge but hopefully after that three months you will get a BFP and have your rainbow baby. Good Luck on your plan.
