I was just wondering how long you all waited before started to TTC again? DH and I would like to TTC right away, but I have been hearing a lot of conflicting information. Any input you have would be appreciated. Thanks.

I M/C at 9 weeks and was able to try right away (though my OB recommended waiting one cycle)...I temped that month and had a really weak ovulation (there was no way that egg would have gotten pregnant)...so, my thought on it is if your body is ready it will get pregnant, if it isnt, you wont...
I'm so sorry for your loss(es)

My OB recommended waiting 3 cycles. She said the risk of miscarriage goes up about 4% if you get pregnant sooner than that after a m/c. We decided not to use protection and to NTNP for the first two cycles. I am having my 2nd AF right now, and we plan to TTC this next cycle.

Mine said to wait at least 2 cycles and try on the 3rd... I think it also depends on how your loss was and how long you need to recover not just physically but also emotionally .. Good luck hun !!

I have tried right away after all my losses. My doctor told me after my first loss to wait one month for "dating purposes". I asked her if other than that there was any reason to wait and she told me no. If your body isn't ready it won't get pregnant. There are lots of women who have gotten pregnant right away without even getting their first AF and went on to have healthy babies.

With my first loss my dr told me to wait 3 cycles, and I did. I didn't know any better and was soooo miserable. After my second loss I didn't even wait until AF returned and we conceived DD. My third loss I had a D&C. My dr told me to wait until AF returned and I did. Usually when doctors tell you to wait until AF returns it's so it's easier to date the pregnancy if you get pregnant quickly. Most who tell you to wait longer, and there are no other physical problems, are saying that for emotional healing. I'm the kind of person who heals better if I try again right away, so that never worked for me.

My doctor said they prefer I wait 2 cycles. I just ovulated for the first time after my m/c a couple of days ago, and my OPK was just barely positive and then disappeard quickly which is very unlike me. We did bd, but I'm not too hopeful that this month will work out anyway.

My Dr told me no reason to wait other than dating.
But now I recomend waiting until your first A/F.
After my last miscarriage I did not wait and had opks that were crazy and so were my temps. Well I did end up pregnant and it was ectopic. It was very scary because we had no clue how far along and i had no symptoms, It could have easily taken my life is I was not a POAS addict.
So now I am waiting so I know for sure how far along I should be so we can do a ultra sound right at 5weeks.

We are trying this month, I waited to have 1 AF because I just felt like my body was messed up hormonally and this cycle seems to be going pretty normally so I am hoping. My midwife said that there is no real data to suggest that it is necessary to wait. I hope you conceive again quickly, I am very sorry for your loss.

my m/w suggested we wait "3 cycles" DH and I decided we would wait one cycle - which ended up being 2 months long.

It depends on how far I was. I have gotten pregnant right after a m/c , I did end up losing that pregnancy but due to a chromosomal issue.
I think it depends on your body and all the circumstances.

we are not exactly trying - more not-trying-not-preventing - we will prob leave it in gods hands for the next few months and then go from there.

I think it really depends on the circumstances of the loss. I was diagnosed with a missed miscarraige at 7.5 weeks and ended up with a D&C a couple of weeks later. My OB told me have one normal period and then we could start TTC.

We "waited" a month, but it's been almost 8 months since my m/c and still no luck.

I've had 2 m/c's and didn't wait to start TTC again. I got pregnant right away after the first one and didn't get pregnant right away after the second. I feel that if your body is ready for another pregnancy, then it will get pregnant. I would wait though after an ectopic, a later first trimester pregnancy or a D&C.

My doctor told me to wait 3 months. I ignored that and only waited until I got my first post-m/c AF. I think that it mostly depends on when you are ready emotionally, unless your doctor gives you a solid medical reason why you should wait.

Thank you so much for all the input. I'm hoping there is no medical reason to wait, but it's already driving me crazy wondering when/if my cycle will go back to normal.
