I asked this over in the fertility charting but thought I would ask here also since everyone here seems so knowledgable. When you are charting does the first day of your cycle begin on the day bleeding begins, say it begins late afternoon or does CD 1 begin on the first full day of bleeding? Thanks guys.

I always count it as the first day of bleeding not spotting even if it's in the evening when AF starts I count that as CD1

I would agree with shortcake. Full on bleeding regardless of time of day is CD 1 imo.

CD 1 is the day ANY bleeding starts. However to have a full cycle from day 1 you should have been charting from the month before coz if it comes in the afternoon for example and you didn't chart in the morning, the next temp you take that is going to be CD 2 not CD 1
