I've been on the WTTC and loss boards for a while now and DH and I are now talking about TTC again when he is done w/ his Army training in September. I'm very excited but also nervous because our first was lost to a missed m/c at 16 wks. I probably won't start posting regularly until after we start TTC, but I want to introduce myself and I'll probably start popping in from time to time. Also, wondering what you did to prepare yourself for TTCAL? I know it's a very emotional thing but I also want my body to be ready physically (I have trouble maintaining and gaining weight). I know I should start taking prenatals now. I've never actually TTC before (our angel was an "oops") so I'm not really sure what to do/expect...

I just wanted to say welcome and I am very sorry for your pregnancy loss

My advice is... eat well, prenatals, work out, all that good stuff!

You want to be physically and as well as mentally ready to start TTC again.

I also am waiting to start TTC and trying to get my body in shape... So were in the same boat

KUP!

Welcome! I am very sorry for your loss. Please feel free to post here now even though your not trying yet. We have lots of ladies here WTTC. As far as getting ready I agree with Kayla. I also would suggest charting, temping or using OPK's to figure out your cycle. Can't wait to get to know you

Hi. I'm also coming over from the WTTC boards.

Our DD and my angel were both "oops" so I'm also new to actually trying. I've been charting and I'm still taking the prenatals that I was taking when I was still pregnant.

I'm also completely changing my diet. Caffeine is cut out with the exception of the small amount in decaf coffee and I have my occasional piece of chocolate, which is a huge change compared to the 3 cups of coffee I used to drink every morning. I'm also switching everything to whole grains, drinking a lot more water, choosing healthier meat choices (extra lean turkey instead of beef), cutting out processed stuff and trying to add in as many fruits and veggies as I can.

As far as mentally preparing, I've been seeing a counselor since right after my loss and she has worked wonders. I also talk to my mom a lot about my angel and she has been a great support system.

Welcome! So sorry to hear about your loss.

This board is great to help with learning what to do for TTCAL, and these ladies are an awesome support system for those days you just aren't feelin well about the whole thing.

I'd have to go with the advice from above as well. I'm trying to fix my diet, exercise, remember the prenatals, and just get my body ready as well. It's not as easy as one would think, but will be sooo worth it when you see that BFP.

My piece of advice...don't be TOO hard on yourself, and don't give up. A woman on another board I was on once said, "Trying to conceive is not a race, it is a marathon." So try to remember that even if it doesn't happen right away, it will, and keep up hope. Good luck on your TTC journey!!

Hi an welcome! I'm so sorry for your loss. I agree with the others about how to prepare. It is a very emotional journey but I hope that yours is short and you get a BFP right away!

Feel free to post anytime! I love to see how everyone is doing! Starting to TTC is a very exciting and scary at the same time... There are so many "what if's".... What the ladies said were right on target... get yourself physically and mentally ready... pre-natals.... watch what you do... My mother tells me to not be a super hero (meaning don't over excert yourself and carry/ lift heavy things or do something that would hurt the process of TTC)... Be positive!
