Your too sweet!

I am doing alright!
I did slip and eat a doughnut yesterday though... Sheesh. I shouldn't have done that BUT other than that I have doing great.

I made the Flax bread and I am slowly but surely getting used to it. Its not really the taste thats hard for me, its the seedy texture.

Also last night, I also gave in for some ice cream.... but stopped myself and went and bough diet root beer and heavy whipping cream. It totally solved my "I need something sweet" craving.

I work as a nursing assistant and work 12 hour days so its hard to eat right on those days because you are just craving bread and stuff to give you energy. I will find other ways to give me energy though.

Thank you so much your too sweet. I really appreciate all the suggestions because I never personally would of though of that and it really helps. I thought I was stuck to almost all salads! (with no croutons of course! )

Sounds to me that you are doing great! We are allowed to slip up sometimes. What I have learned is that if you crave like quick carbs first drink a glass of cold water (i usually put lemon in my water) and then eat something that have good for you slow carb release (complex carbs) like fibery veggies like carrots, broccoli. Veggies with rich color.

If you are looking for something to give you energy try Strawberry Flavored Crystal Light. It comes in little packets that you just add to a bottle of water. I believe that it has caffeine in it which is what gives you energy but I always drink one of those mid afternoon and it gives me the energy to get through the rest of the day. It is sweet also so sometimes helps me with my sugar cravings. Don't feel bad about giving in to cravings sometimes. Sometimes we all just need a little sugar.

Can you do protien shakes? I have to have extra protien now because of the IVF and I have one for breakfast each morning. I make mine with light soy milk, ice, and a banana. The protien powder is vanilla flavored and only has 115 calories per 2 scoops. The whole thing comes up to 277 calories (I track mine again lately because of the 5lbs of weight gain with all the hormone meds). It is actually pretty good and it keeps me full until lunch. It probably make a good snack too.
