I need to vent:

As some of you may know I lost my angel baby little over a month ago through a miscarriage.

I had to have a D&C(which I felt like it was pushed on me) to get it out. I was worried because we have a $10,000 deductible (I'm serious)and there is no way we could've met it and we made too much to qualify for any assistance. Now over a month later we're getting the bills from the hospital and the doctors. It's totaling over $4,000!

The insurance didn't pay a dime and they only did adjustments. The hospital is willing to work with us but the doctor isn't. They want their money in 6 months or its going to be turned over to a collection agency and that's even worse.

It just really upsets me that they know I lost my baby and all they can think about is money! I don't know what me and my husband are going to do. What a horrible, selfish and greedy world we live in today. This makes me almost want to just give up on having kids if this is all the world has to offer. I mean I can't even get any assistance because all the illegal immigrants and welfare people (not all but most) are taking advantage of the system and the people who really need help can't get it and it just sucks!

I am so sorry that you are going through this. It's hard enough having to deal with the loss of a baby but now getting bills for it. It is like a slap in the face. I hope you guys get it worked out so you can try to have another baby.

First of all, your doctor sucks. And second, if you are making payments on any debt, they cannot send you to collections. Pay what you can afford. Sounds like the dr is pretty heartless. This is hard enough to go thru without there added stress.

Omg I am so sorry. I agree with above poster ^ just make what payments you can. If it were me I would try to talk to the doctor in person, instead of over the phone and maybe that will help, but I know doctors can be so heartless

DITTO! Pay them what you can each month and they can NOT send it to collections as long as your making payments. Do not sign anything saying you will pay so much a month if it's a good month send more if it's a bad month send less. Even if you can only afford $1 they can't turn you in.

Ugh! That just sucks! I am really surprised your doctor would be that heartless! You are right, it is incredibly selfish of them! I agree with the others about paying what you can. You could also go to your bank and get a personal loan to pay it...although, with interest, it might not be worth it.

Well I'm definitely looking for a new doctor. I don't want a selfish, inconsiderate doctor like them to deliver any of my children or even by anywhere near me. This experience has made me distrustful of doctors.

I am so sorry that you are having to go through this. I agree with the other ladies. They cannot send you to collections unless you are not paying anything at all.
