So I'm staring at these 6 little pills, crying uncontrollably....
I read the leaflet and it says can cause uterine rupture? I have had a previous cesarean so I'm worried....is this something I should be concerned with?

How did they prescibe you to take them?
I did a ton of research in the 5 weeks I was waiting to miscarry and your risk of rupture is higher if you get the vaginal pills and it all depends on how high of a dose you get.
My DR gave me 400mg orally to take (1 at night and the other the next morning, but I took mine in the middle of the day and I never took the pills the next morning because everything passed that evening). But 2 weeks prior I tried 200mg and it did not work. My dr wanted to start me on the lowest does as possible so the risks were low.
Just pay attention to your bleeding. I had about 24 hours of pretty heavy bleeding and then it started to slow.
If you have any questions please feel free to PM me or ask here.

It is so hard....my dr gave 4 pills for vaginal. I do not even know the dosage but my cramping started within a couple hours and my bleeding was heavy than slowed down and I bled for 10 days. It was so hard to put th we them in and I made DH stand outside the room. Afterwards, I went to bed and stayed there for a whole day and just cried. We are here for you.

i just want to offer you HUGS...i had a D&C but I remember the endless tears both before and after that procedure. I'm so sorry you're going through this If you have any concerns about the pills, call your Dr so they can explain any risk so you're comfortable taking them.

Are you taking all 6 at once? If so that seems like a lot! I dunno...
I started with 1 pill then 6 hrs later took another pill....within 2 hrs of the second pill i started passing every thing. I had a csection in Oct 2008 and used cytotec with both losses in April 2010 and Feb 2011.
I didnt have any problems...my body responded well to the cytotec.
Praying for you!

I have not used the pills at all. I would prefer a D&C because it is over-with very quickly. ((HUGS))

I was scared to death by what I had read about Cytotec on the internet and in the packaging inserts. I didn't have any issues at all when I took it. I suppose it's only the people with bad experiences that share those on the internet. The leaflet has to tell you all the possible side effects. If you have questions, call your doctor and ask.
I'm so sorry that you find yourself in this position. I hope that you are able to get through the physical part quickly so you can begin healing emotionally.

Big Hugs sweetie! It is my understanding that the risks are more pronounced when using the pills vaginally (which is why my OB refuses to prescribe it that way). I took the pills orally twice and nothing happened either time (other than some cramps and feeling sick). I distinctly remember sitting there looking at those d@mn pills the first time while crying too. I am so sorry sweetie

I wanted things over quickly so I didn't take the pills. I had d&c for 2 of my losses. I wanted to say I am sorry for your loss.

If you have concerns I would discuss with your doctor. Yes there is a risk but it must be really small and they have to tell you about it. Kind of how the BCP leaflets tell you about the million things you can get from taking that. Nothing is risk free, even at my D&C they told me about uterine perforation, scarring, etc. I'm sorry you have to go through this. (((HUGS)))

So I talked to my doctor and he said not in the first trimester (the risk of rupture) and even later its a very minimal risk. After two rounds the cytotec began working this morning. I too was beyond horrified by the "personal stories," of Cytotec online. I guess I was expecting to instantly go into this mass pain mode, fall on the floor and black out from blood loss. So far it hasn't been that bad. Don't get me wrong, it was painful but they were able to prescribe me a pain medicaiton for it and now I really don't feel much at all......
Just wanted to update in case someone (unfornately) wanted to know for future reference.
