So I've been in process of M/C since Tuesday Night. The Cytotec finally began to do it's work yesterday and I've had on/off bleeding sometimes heavy, sometimes not since. I had a rather large piece of tissue at the begining of the bleed yesterday morning, but nothing since.

I read a lot of people passing the sac and are pretty confident that this is what it was. I'm not sure I am so confident that the large tissue was that? How do you know? If it's too graphic to post here, please PM me.

I was about 6.5 weeks when they found the "empty sac," but they said it was not a B/O because there was a yolk sac as well. Assuming the baby was lost 3 days prior to the U/S as my levels shot up on Friday and plummeted on Monday.

My Dr. told me no follow up u/s is needed since I have a fairly heavy bleed occurring? He told me to expect it to taper off by Sunday?

Just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you. I went through this Wed night and I felt the same way. I was not sure what I was supposed to be looking for. Sorry I can't be more help.

Hopefully things let up soon and you can start to heal.

Remember it can be different for everyone. Sometimes the tissue will break down before you expel it so you may not 'see' anything. Also if your lining was thick (should be in a pregnancy) you may see pieces of that.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss first of all and when I passed mine it was just a big gush of tissue and blood and liquid. I didn't really see the sack just mostly blood but you can definitely tell when it comes out because its a feeling like nothing else. Its like pooing just through your hoo ha. I got really sick afterward too and the docs said it was because I passed it so look for that sign too.

Kristen,

What you described above is exactly what it felt like yesterday, except it wasn't painful? It was a big "gush" and the bleeding has been off and on since. I wonder if I truly miscarried last week....For those that don't know my story is kind of bizarre but the short version is like this;

6/18/11--BFP
7/01/11-Spotting Told "normal" feet up relax
7/02/11-Bright Red Bleed went to ER. Diagnosed as Threatened M/C
7/03/11-Woke up to Heavy Bleed, Clot's, A lot of Pain
7/05/11-Diagnosed with M/C, Beta's Drawn (2652)
7/08/11-F/U appt, New Dr. (My Doc was booked), Told inconclusive for M/C Diagnosis another Beta Drawn (4700 )
7/11/11-U/S appt and more beta drawn; Empty Sac with Yolk Sac seen Beta's returned 3400, Pretty Sure M/C is now imminent
7/12/11-First Dose of Cytotec 9PM--5AM Nothing
7/13/11-2nd Dose of Cytotec 5PM--1AM
7/14/11-Bright Red Bleed, Felt a "gush," with long tissue (but appeared red and folded), Heavy Cramping, Bright Red bleed and intermitent "gushes" throughout the day.
7/15/11-Intermitent cramps/bleed

Is it possible that the first week that I felt a lot of pain and bleeding could've also been a part of this miscarriage even though the sac remained and was viewed on U/S? I'm wondering if this is why I haven't had such intense pains and/or bleeds as everyone has described?

Thank you again everyone, I know this is a horrible experience to recall. This is my first time going through anything like this (and God willing my last). I appreciate everyone's helpfullness!

I had the "gushes" as well for a day or two, then almost a whole day of nothing but a little blood, then the sac came on the last day for me. I agree with the others though, depending on how far along you were, the sac might break down into smaller pieces that you might not notice. I know a lot of the things I passed fell right to the bottom of the toilet and was hard to see unless you were looking (which is kind of nice if you ask me)

Yes the "gush" is exactly the same. I had intense pain from contractions but I think it only did that because my doc went in vaginally trying to pull tissue out with no pain meds and it hurt so freaking bad! But from what you're describing it sounds like you passed it. I had gushes all day until I had the BIG gush(I forgot to mention that sorry) and thats when everything was over. The big gush wasn't too painful(just kinda like a pulling sensation like when you're ovulating except in your uterus and hoo ha) but I was also on pain meds. Mine was very short too because it only lasted a day (bled a lot in the morning until the surgery) but I was spotting for like 3-4 days before I lost it. If you have any question don't hesitate to PM me! I'm here for you.

So sorry you're going through this... I passed my little bean on Tuesday and it was very obvious what it was - the sac was intact. I won't post more details here, but you're welcome to PM me if it would help you to hear more.

Sorry again. HUGS.

I just wanted to say I'm so sorry for your loss! I know the pain you are feeling right now, and sadly enough I can say I can relate to the feeling of relief. This is such a horrible roller coaster of a ride to be on, and somehow it's somewhat comforting to know you are finally getting off. When I m/c I had bad bleeding for a bit, but then after a couple days it just let up. I hope this passes as quickly and painlessly (if thats possible) as possible. HUGS
