Hi ladies,
I've mentioned on a different thread I will have a D&C on Wednesday. Thing is, next morning I fly out to New York city on a business trip and will be up and about all day Thursday and Friday. For those who had a D&C, how did you feel the next day and were you able to do things? I've had a D&C but it wasn't an issue because I was able to stay home from work so I just lounged and didn't see whether I could do anything. And I don't even remember how I felt, it's been 9 months since then.
Also how long did you bleed? Last time I bled for almost 3 weeks but I had retained tissue so it wasn't a perfect D&C..

I just had a d&C on wednesday. I was in bed all day wednesday and thursday. I didnt feel horrible. I didnt have much bleeding but I did have some cramping. Although I was on meds to make my uterus cramp so that could of been my problem. Im sure everyone is different.

I had some cramping the day of (a Tuesday) and stayed in bed and on the couch. The day after I stayed home from work more so DH and I could have some time together than anything else. I felt fine physically so we dropped DS off at school, DD went to the sitter (like a normal Wednesday) and we went to see the Cleopatra exhibit at a museum in Philadelphia and enjoyed the time to ourselves. I went back to work on Thursday and was on my feet all day- I taught the full day and then had Back to School Night that night, and went to work on Friday. You should probably fine with the schedule you've got ahead of you. I just can't say enough how sorry I am that you have to go through this again. I hope everything goes smoothly and your physical recovery is a speedy one!

I had some cramping with both of mine. With my first one I had a lot of pain but I always ended up getting a bad infection. The second one I was fine a day later. You should be fine. I hope everything goes well for you.

Well the only D&C I had was 5 years ago, but after my D&C I was groggy (they gave me Demerol because I was complaining of intense pressure) and slept the entire day. The next day I think I was fine. I bled for about a week I think.

I had my D & C on a Monday and was fine on Tuesday. I did stay home but I would have been fine to go to work. Stayed home more for emotional reason than for physical. I bled for about 1 1/2 weeks. I think you will be fine for your business trip.

I'm so sorry that you are having to go through this again. I'm thinking of you and praying that all goes well on Wednesday.

I only had spotting after each of my D&C's... The day of them I needed to sleep most of the day. The day after I was up and about physically but an emotional mess.

Bleeding was minimal. And I don't do well with antesitia (sp) the sleepy meds so I am probably a bad person to say. I need a couple days to recover from that. I do take a half tablet of pain meds to help with the cramping. I was ok, didn't have tons of energy. But again I just don't do well with sleepy meds.

I had cramping and spotting the first 2 days after. I didn't feel horrible physically but emotionally I was a wreck. I just needed to lay around.

After my D&C in April of 2009, I had to go out of town on business a few days after. I had the D&C on Saturday, Sunday was Easter and I cooked a big dinner and cried a lot and that Monday I had to get on a plane for work. I cried on the plane going down there and for the next 2 days. The distraction of being around business associates and having to focus on presentations ect... was good for me.

I have had 2, and I was completely normal the night of the procedure, and the next day. I really didn't have any cramping, but I bled for about a week. I think you will be physically fine to go on a business trip.

Although it is an easy procedure, I am so sorry that you have to go through it.
