Ok, so I posted earlier that I did get a positive on the OPK while I was visiting my DH in Seattle. Here is the deal. I tested with FMU on Sunday morning, because Saturday afternoon it looked "almost positive" but I had not waited 4 hrs to go to the bathroom and had some water. So, I got a blaring positive on Sun morning, it was darker than the control line. I also had a lot of EWCM. So, we did the BD that night and Monday morning....but I had to fly back home that evening. I am so happy I O'd while I was there...but now my mind is going crazy thinking....what if I didn't drop the egg yet? What if I needed just one more day there to be sure! I tested again this morning with an OPK and it still looked kind of positive. I wonder how long the little swimmers can truly survive in there. Is that really even possible? ugghhhh.....any thoughts? If i didn't get a positive until sun. morning, could I drop the egg before monday morning? oh, i hope so

With my last two pg I DTD a few days before O time in both cases. I was actually out of town when I O'd the last time so they can definitely live a few days in there.

Oh...one more question...do you guys count the day of ovulation as the day you get a positive on your opk? I want to be sure I count correctly for the 10dpo?

I think the day of ovulation is 24 to 36 hours after you get a positive. And I believe the sperm can live for up to 5 days. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. So glad you got a positive while you were visiting DH. Now the fun part, the
2WW.

Sperm can live up to 5 days. Also you usually O about 24-48 hours after your positive test. I'd say your still in the running as they tell you you should BD ahead of time so the sperm are waiting on the egg Good luck hun!

Oh you're in such a good place! I usually call O day the day after my first true + OPK. Every rare now and then when I temped, it would be two days after my first +, but usually the day after, so I stick with that. I watched this thing where some lady who was super devoted to her research had decided it was time to get her tubes tied or a hysterectomy or whatever it was she had done, so she and her DH DTD during her fertile window (so lots of good CM) and had the procedure done five days later, and they found a handful of spermies still hanging out in there. I've read 2-3 days in normal conditions, up to 5 in perfect conditions (like your EWCM). Never fear!

Thanks ladies! I am hopeful. I know it is very soon ...but it really does seem like my body went back really quickly! I also think it is helping me focus on something positive again. It feels good to be excited about the possibility! Erin...It is good to hear from you. I hope you are doing well. Let me know if you ever want to try and make plans to hang out again!
