I swear I must be the poster child for bad luck. Maybe I broke a mirror without nothing it or crossed a black cat.
I woke up this morning and my OHSS has become severe. I could barely breathe and my sister had to take me to my doctors office. My stomach is the size of a 6 month pregnancy. I had an u/s and the nurse told me that my uterus is literally floating in the fluid. I have so much fluid in there, it is unbearable (10lbs of fluid to be exact).
They really do not want to put my body through anymore stress, so they prescribed me some meds that are supposed to help a little with the extra fluid. If it does not get slightly better by tomorrow morning, then I am getting admitted and I have to have surgery to drain the extra fluid.
All this scares me, as I am afraid that this will hurt my chances for this IVF cycle to work.

Ugh! I am so sorry that you can't catch a break, Lindsey! Praying that the fluid level goes down and that your beans stick.

Oh, I am so sorry Lindsey. I know sometimes life seems like it gives us more than we can handle. I hope that everything is ok for you and you are able to try and remain as optimistic as you can. You are in my thoughts. Keep us posted.

I'm so sorry that you're having to go through all this... lots of positive T&P headed your way, not to mention sticky dust.

Well, hubby just called from the pharmacy, and the one med that is needed to reduce swelling in my stomach will NOT be covered by insurance. $500 for it. I said screw it. It may or not work anyway and I am not paying $500 out of pocket for something that may not work anyway. I want to freaking scream right now!! Why is this all happening to me!?!?!?! There is no way in h*ll we can afford all this on top of everything else. I put extra to the side just in case, but this has far exceeded that.

Lindsy,
did you call your dr. and tell them about the medication not being covered? sometimes there are alternatives that can be prescribed! Also, I am sure they told you, but keep your feel up to help the fluid try and recirculate through your body..and if you have any symptoms of shortness of breath or anything, go to the e.r! good luck hon, this sucks for you

Wow, that really stinks , I'm so sorry !! I would agree and call your DR and see if maybe there is a generic version or possibly different med they will cover.. It's so stupid, I mean if you have to go to the hospital , they will pay waaay more then 500... Stupid insurance... I hope you feel better soon !!! I only ever had mild OHSS but they told me to drink tons of gatoraide.. drink drink drink :-) Good luck hon
