Hi there I'm a newbie on this board but am hoping you ladies can help me out. I had surgery back in may due to an ectopic and lost my left tube but retained the ovary. Now hubby and I are TTC and I got a positive opk last night and this morning and at first I was super excited but then I started to think about it and I am wondering if I would still get a positive opk if I was ovulating from the side with no tube? Thanks for any input!!

I think you will still get a positive not matter what side because it is based on the hormone that surges before the release.... BUT I could totally be wrong about this.

I am so sorry for your loss, I had an ectopic in May as well.

I believe you will still get a positive OPK because you are releasing the hormone but I'm not 100% sure. I hope you O from your good side and get a sticky BFP

The hormone LH (which is what makes the opk positive) is made in your pituitary gland and so will be throughout your body to stimulate your ovaries to ovulate. In other words you will get a positive opk no matter what side you ovulate from.

I hope you get pregnant soon!!

Thanks ladies. I'm sorry for all your losses as well. You just confirmed what I thought, I just didn't know if maybe someone knew something I didn't. I'm far from new in the TTC game but you can always learn something you didn't know. I appreciate all your help! Fx for me pretty please, I've got one shot at this before hubby leaves in 2 weeks for a deployment!
