So I am on day 2 of no drinking coffee or any caffeine at all. So far its going fine, but I know once I start school again I will need my caffeine.
Have any of you stopped drinking coffee/caffeine for TTC?
Did you get pregnant after quitting it?
I am totally desperate to get pregnant. We are on our 6 month of TTC now and still no pregnancy at all. I try not to dwell on it but each month that goes by I start to think maybe I can't get pregnant.

As far as I know, moderate amounts of coffee (1 cup) does not affect pregnancy or fertility. I did try to switch to decaf for my second cup of the day in case two was too much. I think once you stop the coffee though, your body will adjust and you'll find that you don't need it as much as you thought you did.

When I stopped originally I switched to 1/2 and 1/2 then to decaf. Now I will have 1 cup every once in a while, but since I'm not really addicted to it, I can forgo it completely.
Because I was diagnosed as recurrent m/c, and caffeine was linked in some study to an increased risk, as soon as I get a BFP I stop all caffeine.
SO yes, I've quit to TTC to a point and yes I've gotten pregnant after quitting, but I don't think there is a correlation with quitting and getting pregnant.

I quit when I'm pregnant, but not for TTC. Honestly I don't do anything different for TTC or the 2WW anymore (except a multivitamin and extra folic acid in the 2WW, which really takes no effort whatsoever). I've been trying for my take-home baby since Jan 2009 For a while I tried giving up certain things, or forcing myself to eat or drink a certain way, but that made it even harder to see AF all those times. So now I just "do me," and once a baby comes along, THEN I'll give up the caffeine, eat healthier, etc.

Erin I feel the same way...that is why I haven't given it up to this point. The only reason I am stopping the coffee is because of the cyst really. I keep reading how fake estrogen can make cyst and can make you have cyst.
I am trying some new things to get rid of the cyst. And of course I am hoping it will somehow help with getting pregnant too. I hate that I have to give it up because I love my cup of coffee. But I am willing to try anything right now. I guess I thought I would be pregnant by now since its never taken more than 5 months of TTC before to get pregnant. Of course I am older now and had the reversal so I am guessing everything is different now.

I have been TTC#2 for over a year now. I have done cycles completely caffeine free and cycles with moderate caffeine intake (1 cup a day). Hasn't seemed to make a difference.

As soon as we decided that TTC was in the near future, I cut caffeine out completely. I did a lot of reading after my M/C and found out that excessive amounts of caffeine put you at a higher risk. I know that there is always going to be at least some type of risk, but personally, I want to lower the risks as much as I can. I know that small amounts of caffiene are ok, but I'm afraid that if I start again, then I will go back to my old ways of downing an entire pot of coffee and thinking nothing about it.
The first week of quitting was probably the hardest. I'm not gonna lie, I felt like crap, but I quit cold turkey and my body was probably going through some serious withdrawl, considering the amounts of caffeine that I had been consuming. Now, it's been about two months and I don't even miss it at all. I don't feel that "need" for it at all anymore.

When I got pregnant this last time I quit coffee cold turkey and had three or four days of the most awful headaches ever. So when I started again I decided that I would allow myself one cup each morning and I'll stop when I get pregnant again. It's really hard for me because we get free, really good coffee at work so I used to drink it all day long... really bad! So now I'm making myself carry water around instead... I never want to have those headaches again!

I read somewhere online that for some people quitting cold turkey is a good way to quit caffeine because realizing the affect that it can have on their body helps them to quit. I think that's what keeps me from starting back up again with my coffee.
The post above made me remember that article, especially that last part of "I never want to have those headaches again!" because anytime that I want to grab my usually morning cup of coffee, I always think of how awful I felt when I gave it up.

I'm only down to 1 cup of coffee in the morning. I had a huge dependency on soda (Mountain Dew or Pepsi to be exact) and when I was TTC in December/January I cut it out to just 1 cup of coffee. I had THE WORST migraines ever for about 2 weeks or so. But, I've kept up with the 1 cup of coffee thing and don't keep soda in the house at all. I feel 1 cup is fine even if I do get pg.
