Hi everyone,

I'm Michelle (duh ). I have a 4 year old daughter and have been at JM since I was pregnant with her, but I've been off and on for a year maybe. Anyway, quick intro: I had a missed miscarriage at the end of April. I found out at 12 weeks that the baby passed around 7 weeks, but I had suspicions for a while that things weren't right. Within 24 hours of finding out I actually miscarried, but had issues with retained tissues and about 3-4 weeks later had to have a D&C. My cycles have returned to normal since then, but I took a break, so this is my third cycle and official start to TTC again.

My question has to do with some midcycle pain I have been having. It's only happened a few times and isn't very severe. It feels a bit like menstrual cramps but not quite and the location is also a little higher than my uterus. If anything, it feels like the pain I get from the scar tissue from my c-section. I know a fair amount of anatomy and physiology and I'm stumped, so I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone had experienced anything like it before I called the doctor. I did seem to have more pain during the pregnancy and miscarriage from the scar tissue (I assume from stretching and stress) so that's the only thing I can think of. When I mentioned it to my doctor he said it may be an issue for labor and that I should have another c-section, but didn't seem concerned for another pregnancy.

Anyway, thanks for reading. I'm sorry we're all here, if you know what I mean but I'm glad there's a place we can talk to each other. After the miscarriage I found a LOT of women I knew had had them. It's like the suckiest secret club ever.

Maybe it could be ovulation pain? I would call the doctor anyway, just in case.

Since you had a previous c/s the scar on your uterus will hurt as it stretches, scar tissue isn't very elastic. There can be complications with having had a previous c/s - the placenta can attach on the scar, the baby can implant on the scar, but they are rare.

a previous c/s shouldn't have much bearing on whether or not you carry a pregnancy to term, but the more c/s's you have the more the complications become.

Having a precious c/s should not deter you from trying for a VBAC (if you want) when you do get pregnant. I had a VBAC with my second. I have 2 friends since then to VBAC, we have all agreed it is an amazing thing to do!

I am sorry for your loss, I hope you get a sticky bean soon!
