Im so ready to have this part over, but I have not even started spotting yet. How long can this take? I'm just ready to not feel so carpy, and I don't want to be stuck out some where and have the worst of it start......

So it's started. The backache is bad.......

It can take awhile if your body isn't recognizing it. Sometimes like with a missed m/c your body doesn't realize it at all and you have to have a D&C or the pills to help your body along or do it for your body. ((HUGS)) I know it's frustrating.

Unfortunately it can take weeks. My OB guessed that growth/development stopped at least a couple of weeks before we realized there was a problem and after two weeks (and two doses of cytotec to attempt to get things started) I finally opted for a D&C. The waiting is so incredibly hard. HUGS sweetie!

I started spotting about two and a half weeks after the baby's heart stopped beating. Then it took several more days to finish. I know it's different for everyone though and I've heard of some bodies hanging on to the pregnancy for weeks longer. I would talk to your doctor about something to help it move along... I know it's so hard to just wait for it to happen and I didn't feel like I could even really start to grieve the loss until after that part was over.

Good luck and I'll be thinking of you...

it can take a while, I found out at 7 weeks that development stopped at 6 weeks, and it didn't start for another week after that.

I hope it happens soon for you and doesn't draw out...

I found out the baby stopped growing at 8 weeks..... by the 13th week I got sick of waiting and did the pills.

This waiting is so hard, I am sorry.

I am so sorry that you are having to go through this. I had a missed m/c and my body just wouldn't reconize the loss so I opted for a D & C. I hope it happens soon for you.

I was just coming on to ask the same question. In my case, the baby stopped growing at 6 weeks, 3 days. I found out at 8 weeks, and this Sunday will make 10 weeks. So, I'm 4 weeks out with zero spotting. I've had a couple of bouts with cramps this week, and then a few hours later, I'm feeling fine.

I go to the doctor on Tuesday, and although I wanted to do this naturally, I think I'm going to ask for a D&C. The mental aspect of it is just too much. Plus, I want to look ahead, move on, OVULATE, and try again!

Sadly, I am in the same boat as you. I got my hcg results...and the dr. said, prepare for m/c. how do you prepare for that? I almost think it is worse than not knowing and it just happening, because I still feel pregnant. ugghhh, I hope it happens soon for you guys so you can move on...same for me. I just want it to be over so I can heal emotionally and I hope the same for you.

I'm sorry to hear you're in pain. I hope the physical symptoms subside quickly for you. I wasn't as far along as you, but for me, I only had one day of really terrible cramping. Are you taking anything for the pain? I took Advil regularly from the moment I felt the cramping start. It helped tremendously. Huge hugs to you during this awful time!

my midwife told me I could take up to 4 ibuprofen, when the cramps were still horrendous I dug out some percocet I was holding on to and alternated that with the ibuprofen.

*hugs*

Oh hun My M/C took about 6 weeks from the first bleed until my first AF! I felt so awful during the entire time antcipating, feeling pain physically and emotionally. I opted for the Misoprostol to help speed things up but what I didn't realize is that it would still take time and not be instant as I had read online. I think the worst part for me was that after I thought all was over, meaning the bleeding/spotting had stopped, I ended up passing the fetus/material about a week & half later. I had all ready healed as much as I could and then bam, right after a baby shower none the less! I hope it's quicker for you as my story seemed to be a bit out of the norm but still in the range of "normal," from my physician's stand point. The worst about the "what to expect," is that we are all so different, so it occurs differently for each person! Hang in there hun

Today's cramping is bad. It makes me feel flush and weak with each wave of cramps. I don't like taking meds, they make me feel gross, but I think that is from being a guinea pig for the migraine medicines that came out in the late 80's.
