So when I bought my first set of OPK's I bought a 3 pack of FRERs to make sure that I was back to baseline. I only used one (beautiful but bittersweet BFN) so I have a stash now. But the three pack came with a bonus "fertility test" that you're supposed to pee on using CD 3 FMU. It measures FSH I believe, with the idea of telling you if you have too much and indicating the quality/quantity of your egg (I think that's what I remember reading on the instructions.)

Anywho... I'm just wondering if anyone has ever used one of these things before and if it's just another way to make myself crazy. Tomorrow is CD 3 so the plan is to POAS in the morning. Thought I'd pick some of the brilliant brains around here...

I don't think their accuracy is as good. I know someone on here used one then freaked out because of the result only to find out that there was no issue at all.

Never heard of that but I'm curious to know if it works.

I never took the ones that came with my FRERs. I was afraid it would make me spaz out, and I wasn't sure if I could trust it.

I don't think I'd personally trust the results.

If this is day 3 after m/c, I would not use it at all right now. If you have had a AF since m/c, then you can use it with CAUTION! My RE said these sticks are a waste of money/sanity! I used them, and they were always within NORMAL limits of the test, and turned out my FSH was on the higher side, being a 14.1. I've seen women get positive high results on this test and their FSH was normal when doing the actual blood test. So IMO, it has gone both ways, and not worth the anxiety of waiting the 30min to tell you about your fertility. Only a dr. can confirm with reliable testing through blood, and sometimes it takes a couple of cycles to get a good baseline FSH.

I agree with Lori! So if you take it.. I honestly wouldn't read too much into it and if it's going to stress you out I suggest not taking it.

I took one (figured why not - couldn't really pee on anything else on day 3 of my cycle right?). It was within normal limits but I have no idea if it was right or not.

Thanks ladies... that's kind of what I was thinking...

Lori - it's my first AF after m/c, so I know my body could still be wacky... I think I'll prolly use it, just cuz it's there. And like Joanna said, what else am I gonna pee on right now?

So the plan is pee on it, but don't take it seriously.... seems like that's the story of my life lately. I think DB is a little yucked out by the pee sticks I'm leaving laying around!

So I peed on this other stick this morning. The test line was there but much lighter than the control line, so according to the directions that means my FSH levels are within the normal range...

Okay then.... Guess we'll see if that adds up to a BFP in a few weeks.

I used one right after a m/c- and it came back with abnormal FSH, but my test through the RE are all normal. It's hard when it's sitting there NOT to go ahead and use it, but I agree, they are not a be all tell all on their own. And they can be used at the wrong time.

They're a little hard to read and like Lori said not very accurate... it's like a horoscope more for entertainment purposes only
