Ok this is almost as nothing to do with TTC but I am sure you will all understand.
I am a photographer as most of you know. I did a wedding in sept 2009 and they got all there albums but never ordered the prints. Well I just got a message on Facebook from her asking if she can now order her prints... 2 YEARS LATER! Well my contracts all states you have 6 months from the event date to claim all items in your package. Also I have had to purge all 2009 weddings from my hard drives because they take up to much room so every 18 months I was purging weddings. So I told her all this that I no longer have them and she passed up the dead line. Her responce that was....
"If it helps, I still have the CD of pictures? Not sure if you knew, but our son passed away last summer, so we have been delayed with pretty much every deadline...lol..."
Ok is she really trying to use her new born passing away as leverage? BTW she is 9 months pregnant with another baby as we speak. its not like the baby was in the wedding she got pregnant a couple months after the wedding.
Do you all think it is fair of her to use that as leverage?
My responce back to her was..."Yes I saw that and so sorry. I have lost 3 pregnancys in the last 10 months so I know how it can toss your world upside down."
Since that no responce back from her.
UGH some people, am I wrong to think this way? But rules are rules.

I agree with you. For one thing her 6 months would have been up before she lost her child, so using that as an excuse is pretty low to me.

That is a tough one. If her child passed away before the deadline I would of course help her out but now it's a little different. Maybe offer her an option of paying extra if she would like them now.

If she has a CD, why doesn't she just print them herself?

That's exactly what I was wondering too.
I totally think it was low of her to use that in an attempt to get you to give in. What I also don't get is the "lol"....how is "lol" ever appropriate when referring to the loss of a child????

This! Am I wrong in my math and this child wouldn't even have been born by the time the deadline passed? It sounds like she read the contract, saw the rules, and decided to try and use it as an excuse.

She probably can't use the CD because she doesn't have a print release.

Print release? Why would you give them a CD, but not give them rights to print? That doesn't make any sense to me. All she has to do is copy the pictures to her computer and print them that way. Just upload to Walgreens or something.

Thats what I was thinking as well. I figured that is why I never heard back from her again about her prints.

I know I was thinking the same thing. Her wording just pushed me over the edge.

That is exactly what she was trying to do.

Yes she has the print rights. I am sure she has made tons of prints between now and then. I bet her mom said something to her asking if she ever ordered those prints or not, so she tried to see if she still could since her mom asked.

Some photographers will give you low resolution images that they do not want you to print but you can use them online for things like facebook.
But my CD/DVD's are full resolution with print rights.

I think it is very low of her to use the loss of her child and I think it is right of you to stick with what is in your contract.

Is she going to pay you for the prints now or are they somehow a part of a package she bought back in the day? If the second, then heck no, she's way past her time to order.

They were part of the package she bought 2 years ago.
She has the freakin CD of all images and the print rights so she can go make her own.

Oh yeah there is no way if she was past the time that far that I would make her prints.
