I actually ended up in this groups chat room on Monday night when I was trying to find the PCOS chat room and it ended up being a blessing in disguise. If it's ok I would really like to join you ladies.

My name is Jennifer and DH and I are currently TTC #2 with 2 losses, one in Jan 2010 and one a couple of weeks ago. I'm having a really hard time this time around. I thought I was dealing with it well, but I don't think I am. I'm just so mad at my body right now. I am currently losing weight to try to help with my PCOS symptoms and I've been having a hard time getting back on track after this last loss.

I also have a question. Is it normal to not ovulate the cycle right after a loss? My cycles were getting back to normal with the weight I have lost and so far this cycle I have a feeling that I'm not going to O. I'm just feeling really discouraged and I feel like I don't have anyone to talk to about it.

Thanks for listening.

Hi Jennifer, I am so sorry for your losses. I cannot contribute anything to the ovulation part as that may be different from one person to the next. I do not have experience with PCOS so I am no big help there. I know our host .:Shortcake:. (Katie) does have information she can share with you.

Welcome and nice meeting you in the chat! I don't know anything about PCOS, but like Lovisa said, Katie has a lot of information.

After my loss, my cycle was so wacky I didn't even know when to begin using OPKs, so I didn't. I don't know if I ovulated or not. I know a couple of people have said that they did not ovulate, but others have.

((HUGS)) I'm glad you decided to join us. As far as ovulating after a loss sometimes it takes your body awhile to get back to normal. As far as the PCOS goes my body doesn't always ovulate. My doctor has me on Metformin to help with the insulin resistance and also Femara to help my body ovulate. You might want to talk to you doctor about a med to help you ovulate if your body doesn't do it on it's own.

So sorry for your loss.
I also have PCOS but its a very mild case of it. I have not ovulated for a long time after a loss and then I have ovulated very early after a loss so Its so hard to tell with my body. But I think what I hear most people or doctors saying is to give your self about 3 months/cycles for your body to get back into a rythem after a loss. For me after each loss I feel like I was a given a new body because all my signs and patterns change on me. This last one was an ectopic and I think its got me all screwed up.
My DR has me on Metformin but for TTC I have been able to get pregnant on my own.... so far.

Welcome Jennifer! I'm so sorry for your loss. I think the ladies with PCOS experience covered that part well. Even without PCOS it can take your body a while to get back to normal after a loss.

Thank you all so much for the welcome and the answer to my question. I really appreciate it. Even though I hate that you all can relate, it's really nice to be able to have people to talk to about it. I'm just going to give my body a few months and see if it will get back to normal on it's own.

Hi Ami!

Hi Jennifer and welcome to TTCAL!! I'm so sorry for your losses. It is such a hard thing to go through. I feel the same way as you that it stinks that others have had the same experiences but the one good thing is that this board is full of support and information!

Hi Jennifer, I am sorry about your loss

I have PCOS and lost our baby nearly 7 months ago. What the other ladies have told me is true. Unfortunately with PCOS you can never be sure what your body is going to do. After our loss mint decided that it was going to work on its own steam and I ovulated (we weren't allowed to try), as soon as we were given the go ahead to try it decided that I have ovulated more than enough and I ended up back to square one

Good luck on trying to ttc again... hope that your wait won't be a long one

Hi Jennifer - I am so sorry about your loss.

All I can say is that waiting to try again after a complete cycle was some of the best advice I got. I know that for some trying right away worked for them, but I was glad to give my body some time to recover and recuperate. I even went to an acupuncturist for some help in getting everything back to working order. But, I do not have any experience with PCOS so you'll definitely want to check with your OBGYN.

Welcome Jennifer. I am sorry for your loss. The ladies here are wonderful. I also have PCOS. After all of my losses it has taken my body time to get back to normal. I hope your body goes back to normal for you.

I don't have PCOS and have always had regular cycles and I didn't O right after my loss. I'm currently waiting to see if I will O this cycle... all of our bodies are different, but it makes sense that things would be wacky for a little while.

So sorry for your loss, but glad you found your way here. HUGS

Welcome and I am sorry for your loss. I did ovulate right after my last m/c, and got pregnant....but here I am again... with another m/c. so, I don't know if it was because it was too soon, but I won't try again after a m/c without waiting a full cycle, just in case. I feel like maybe my body wasn't ready. well, i hope your ovulation returns to normal and you get your bfp and sticky bean very soon!

Thank you all so much!! You have no idea how much the support means to me. I don't believe I'm going to O this cycle, and I think giving my body a break it a good plan for me. I'm so glad I stumbled upon the chat, it was meant to be.
