My little sister is in Virginia and I haven't been able to get through to her... I'm sure that cell service is just all wonky... not something you expect out there!

I live in Utah... So clear across the country... So of course I didn't feel anything.
I just wanted to say how scary and I hope everyone is okay!

I felt it too! I blamed my dog for shaking the couch until I realized that he was in the other room . . .

That was the weirdest thing ever! Just sitting in my office and the whole building just starts shaking and it was a brick building! Cell phones aren't working right at all.

I am in VA west of Washington DC and I felt it at work. It was the weirdest/scariest thing ever. All is well here but it was going for about 30 seconds. After the made us all go outside of the office building and wait. Then they wanted to make all offices close so that the building managment team and other specialists can check that the building is sound and safe and no structural damage.
I was doing training for a new program we are going to start using in end of October and in the middle of it then it hit. So the floor was shaking and creating some type of wave movement. The desks were shaking. Anyway I am ok as well. Katie and all others I am so happy to hear that you all are ok.

I am out of town in a different state and did not feel it but my boys did. My Dad was at the house in Richmond and I could not get a hold of him for 2 hours. I was so afraid something bad happened to him, I was crying. Happy Ending though: Today is his birthday and he was in the garage with a buddy of his having a beer when the earthquake hit - He calmly asked his buddy what he put in the beer.
