Background: I found out I was pg in September 2009. DH and I were both so excited. I was extremely nauseous and sick during the entire time I was pg. I had spotting, bleeding, and cramping. I had 4 u/s and was told that everything was normal and looked great. I started having extreme swelling at 14 weeks and high blood pressure. I was put on bp meds and went back one day to switch my meds to find out I had just m/c. They couldn't find a hb by doppler or by u/s. I was devastated. We just had a hb at 14w6d at the dr office. I was then induced that day on 12/16/2009 at 15w4d. I decided to send everything to pathology instead of a burial. I found out later on that I had a partial molar pregnancy which would require me to get weekly blood draws to check my hcg level. I started going in weekly and found out that my dr. wanted me to start methotrexate injections. I had 2 weekly injections and still wasn't negative. I ended up getting a D&C (2 months after my delivery). I still wasn't negative so my dr. did one more methotrexate injection and referred me to an oncologist. The oncologist started me on a different chemo called act-d. I had treatments every 2 weeks and ended up needing 6 treatments. I felt like I was on a rollercoaster. My hcg level went up and down every other week. Finally I reached negative only to go back to positive the next week. My oncologist stopped the chemo treatment and I finally stayed negative. It took me 6 1/2 months to reach negative. I was then told I could not ttc for 6 months.

Well I found I was pregnant 3 months after my last chemo treatment. I just got my first monthly blood draw and ended up having to go to urgent care b/c I thought I had a UTI. I was pg. They ordered blood work right away. I was a nervous wreck during my pregnancy. My numbers (hcg) were increasing too fast so my dr. suspected another molar pregnancy. I ended up seeing my regular OBGYN and a high risk dr. Luckily I made it day by day and once I made it to 26 weeks I felt like I could breathe a little. I basically knew it was not another molar. For some reason even at 18 and 20 weeks when the high risk dr. told me it was a normal pregnancy, I couldn't believe them. I delivered a healthy baby boy on 5/30/2011. He was 8 lbs 9 oz. and 19.5 in. long. He is my little miracle. I was told that we were very lucky b/c something was wrong with my placenta and my cord completely fell apart when I went to deliver it. My MIL said she witnessed a birth similar to that only the baby was stillborn b/c the cord detached during the delivery of the baby.


So here I am today.

My name is Lisa (27 tomorrow) and DH is Matt (will be 30 in Dec). We have an angel named Gabriel Matthew and an Earth baby named Jacob (12 weeks). I am currently breastfeeding and just got my first real AF.

I am not actively trying yet and don't know exactly when we will. I know there are a lot of new ladies here so I wanted to introduce myself and get to know everyone. I am currently breastfeeding so I am not even sure what my cycles will be like. I would like to start ttc right away, but I don't think DH does. My chances of having another molar has increased so I want to try right away because of the wait time after a molar etc. We have dtd a few times and he has pulled out every single time. I just got my first real AF. I think I have had two but they were only spotting. I figured I am going to start tracking my cycles b/c since I m/c they haven't been normal. That is my first step. I am not on any birth control so we are just using the pull out method right now. I think once we get our finances lined out a little he will be on board with ttc soon.

Hope it is ok that I hang out until we start ttc!

I remember you Your story is amazing. I hate you had to go through all that but so glad your rainbow baby made it safetly into the world. You're one lucky mama He is adorable. I hope you don't have such a struggle the next time you are pregnant.

Thanks ladies. You all made me feel welcome last time I was here. I couldn't imagine going through anything alone. I am happy to see that some have graduated on to PAL. It breaks my heart seeing that some of you are still here. I keep praying that you all get your little rainbows soon.
