Be safe Katie!
My sister is in Norfolk, VA so I'm gonna spend the weekend worrying about her and her little girl... Of course this would be the weekend that her hubby is out of town!

I hope everyone in her path is safe and evacuates if necessary! It's definitely not something to mess with. Better safe than sorry!

Our beaches are being evacuated (mandatory), but I am far enough inland, that so far, we haven't been - fingers crossed that she blows by us (figuratively, not literally - lol)!

I think we are far enough inland that we aren't going to see too much wind. I am really glad I am not still in NJ!

I'm in the path and so far no required evacuation, so we are just making sure our generator is working and full of gas. Went to the store (just for regular things we needed) and the water shelves were wiped out. LOL

I think I'm going to hit up the store tomorrow after work and pick up a few more things. Mother nature sure does know how to mess with us

All be safe. I am in VA close to DC and our county is under hurricane advisory (emergency). No msg about evacuation yet and I hope we don't need it. Just alot of rain for this weekend.

You too Katie! I will create a whirlwind of cleaning on saturday inside. So in way I am creating my own little storm when cleaning so it goes fast b/c I dislike cleaning but must be done. LOL Yeah I hope so too as I do not know what to do with the cats at home. I hope it is rain only or perhaps a tropical storm I can handle that much better.

We were in the very first projected path and now nada.....the people in charge in our HOA jumped the gun to drop the lake and in the process the valve is now stuck at fully open and we have a giant mud puddle in our backyard with 0 rain in the forecast. For everyone in the path of this hurricane please please be safe. Flooding can come on so fast and catch you off guard so please be vigilant.

Hurricane Irene will only be a tropical storm in our area VA outskirts of Washington DC. So max 35 mph winds and steady rain but no more than 3 inches of accumulation. Still cleaning at home to create my own storm.

It headed straight for us, we are close to sandbridge and near the coastline of VB, VA. It was something else... wasn't as bad as we thought it would be.
