I love my OB. She was wonderful today. She asked questions about the m/c and how I was feeling, and determined that unless I wanted her to spend more money just for the heck of it, that she really didn't feel it was necessary to do a beta today. She also didn't feel an ultrasound was necessary given that my cramping is diminishing and the bleeding is getting lighter. She asked me to call her in a week with an update. Again, she was not at all concerned that I was bf-ing, and said she thought it was special and wonderful that Josiah was still nursing. I asked her about my short cycles, and how I was concerned my luteal phase was too short. She asked me how long my cycles were, and when I was ovulating based on the OPK's. She then said that normally she likes to see a person's charting data for several months, and that she is not normally so loose about prescribing meds, but in this case, she felt comfortable prescribing progesterone just "in case" the short luteal phase was the issue, and she saw no harm in me trying it. So, I have the prescription. Now I just need to decide when to start it. DH is starting a new job in a week, and our new insurance will be better than our current insurance, but it won't kick in until Oct. 1st. I'm thinking that I will allow my body to have one normal period, then fill the prescription to start using on my second post m/c cycle. The OB still advised waiting 3 months for best chances of a successful pregnancy, but I'm just going to see how my cycles go before making a decision on when to start TTC. We are leaning towards trying again after the first cycle. So, that was my appointment. I'm feeling physically better today, the cramping is almost gone, and the bleeding is getting better.

So glad you are feeling better! Your OB sounds great, good ones are hard to find, but when you find one, it's the best!

With my first loss, we only waited one cycle and had a successful pg afterwards, so it's possible. Gonna try it this time too, because I am too impatient to wait

GL, whatever decision you make, my fingers are crossed that it doesn't take long!

That all sounds like a great plan! Progesterone definitely helped me with my short luteal phase issue. It's obnoxious (messy and expensive) to take, but definitely worth it.

Glad you're feeling better and that you have sucha great relationship with your OB! Good luck with your decision on when to TTC again...whenever you feel is the right time is what matters most.

side note: awesome job that you're still BF...Savannah's close to weaning i think now at 21 months, so I have massive respect that you're still going strong with Josiah!

Progesterone doesn't have to be messy. I was prescribed the oral kind. There is also a vaginal suppository, and I'm assuming that could be pretty messy.
