I posted on here almost 2 weeks ago when I was first told I was having a miscarriage. I had very faint positives at 8dpo and finally believed it at 12dpo. Then at 15dpo I had two days of bleeding and cramping and found out my beta hcg was just at 5 at 4 1/2 weeks pregnant. My bleeding stopped and I got more blood work to confirm it more than doubled in 48 hours and was at 18. My third blood draw I was at 67 which was a doubling time of 66 hrs. My doctor was concerned and I went back in 2 days to find out I had dropped to 40 and my progesterone was at 5.5. I've been taking my wondfos almost every day so I could tell they were getting lighter. It's been 3 days since my last blood draw and my tests were almost invisible but this morning I took another and it had a noticeably darker line on it. I've been taking misoprostol and it has yet to work. I took my first dose Fri night and my second dose 24 hrs ago. I am only spotting brown with very little cramping but I've been spotting brown since the bleeding stopped. I'm going for more blood work tomorrow to make sure I'm at zero. I have no idea what's going on, why I'm not letting this baby go. Is it still fighting? I have yet to see a doctor in person and I'm getting frustrated that I can never talk to just my doctor. In the last 2 weeks I've talked to every ob/gyn and I get so many different answers. This was my first pregnancy and I don't know what my options are. I know they won't do an ultrasound, but could they examine me to make sure everythings out? But then why would my test be darker? I'm sick of waiting it out I have to be back at work Tuesday.

Sorry to hear you are going through this. I would request an u/s to check to see what is going on.

I'm so sorry sweetie! I'm really surprised they had you take misoprostol w/o doing an u/s first. That being said, it is not uncommon for your body not to recognize that you have having a m/c for weeks. I was diagnosed with a "missed" m/c at 7.5 weeks (blighted ovum so no development/growth since just after implantation). After two courses of cytotec and two weeks of waiting I finally opted for a D&C. My body just did not get the message. Oh and I got positive BFPs up until the day I had my first u/s at 7.5 weeks. I don't think they could tell if everything was out without an u/s? I would call and demand to see your OB sweetie. Throw a fit if necessary. At this point I think your options are basically wait to see if you body finally takes the hint, try the pills again or opt for a D&C. But regardless you should get to see your OB in person and have them talk you through all of this. They should be treating you better than that

I'm sorry your OB office is treating you so wrongly. Please demand an u/s with YOUR OB. You should not be made to deal with this in this way. Big hugs...

I totally agree. When I had my first m/c, they did an u/s when my hcg was only at 25, because they wanted to rule out an ectopic pregnancy. My OB also did a gentle pelvic exam a few days after I had started bleeding to see if my cervix was open or closed. I would demand to see your OB, and to have an ultrasound done. I hope your body takes care of this on its own. If not, you may be looking at a D&C as your only option.

Wow, I am appalled at the way your Dr is handling things. I totally agree that you need to call and demand to be seen. They should not be diagnosing and treating you over the phone.

I am so sorry you are dealing with this.

I took off tomorrow so i plan on calling at 8am when they open. I was spotting a lot of brown which has stopped but i can't see how that was it. For 6 weeks my numbers were low but i expected more of a period. Is it possible they arent doing anything since I have a large bill at the hospital?

I'm thinking of just switching hospitals... I'm mad they never checked my progesterone to begin with.

I don't know how they could ethically not treat you considering what you are going through because of a bill. If that is the case I would highly consider looking into a new doctor.

They have to treat you, bill or not!

I would demand, as ppl have suggested, that you be seen and explain that you are confused as to what is going on and need to see someone to have things checked, explained, etc. I opted for a D&E from the start, so I could move on...it took 4 weeks to get back to AF, my body had no idea the baby was not growing anymore and that the hb had stopped, this was the 2nd time I had to have the procedure. My baby stopped progressing at 8w 6d, I didn't find out until I was 11w 6d, someitmes your body just doesn't get the hint right away. My doc told me if I waited it out, it could be weeks before anything happened.

GL! I hope you get answers!

I agree with what the other ladies have said. As for the 'script, I had the cyotec back in May and at first I was prescribed to take it orally and that didnt do anything, so a few days later I was prescribed to take it vaginally and that got things going. With my first mc I was 12 weeks on the dot when I noticed spotting but the baby only measured 6 weeks. And with the second I was 11w 5d and the baby only measured 8w 3d. Thats when I chose the cyotec.

First off FIRE your doctor! Find a doctor that is going to be there for you. Second demand an ultrasound to see what is going on. Just because your betas are going one way or another doesn't for sure mean anything. And third ((HUGS)) I know how hard it is when you just want someone to explain what is going on and what your options are. I am appalled at how your doctor is handling it.

I agree, get rid of your dr. Could you possibly go to the ER and say you are cramping and bleeding?

I wish I would of read all these posts yesterday. I chickened out and didn't demand anything. I'm just ready to move on. I have a feeling I'll be getting more blood work done. I had to call the hospital myself at 2pm to get my results from yesterday and I'm still at beta level 14. Let me tell ya those pink handle wondfos aren't as sensitive as the blue handle ones. Anyways my doctor never called. I just found out she took 2 weeks off for her daughter's wedding so I'm sure she was swamped yesterday but still... She'll probably call today when I'm busy at work yay. I dreamed I was pregnant last night. Probably cause I was up till 12am crocheting a baby blanket. I don't think my body knows what's going on either as soon as I started the misoprostol my boobs hurt so bad and I have huge dark pregnancy nipples. Through out the pregnancy my boobs never hurt like this.
