So it seems ever since I start Metformin my cycles have been late, skipping some and just plain crazy....
But my midwife said it was actually supposed to help ovulation?

Anyone on Metformin have this problem?

I didn't have that problem because of the metformin I have it due to the PCOS. The metformin is supposed to help regulate your cycle.

When i started the metformin I was annovulatory. taking it helped me ovulate and it has seemed to keep my cycles pretty regular. however, I was told that it's just supposed to "promote spontanious ovulation" which to me doesn't say it will make you ovulate, I think its just if your body is gearing up to O it will make it easier for you to actually ovulate. maybe your body needs more of a push?

what dosage are you on? I was taking it like 2-3 times a day...I would have to check on the amounts, but i think they were 500mg capsules.

It is supposed to help regulate you.
I am on it and never had any issues with that.

I would speak to your midwife about it when you go. They might need to up your dosage or your body might react better to the extended release kind (I'm on that).
