Hi, I'm Amanda (25), married to Matthew (27). We've been married for a little over a year and have been actively TTC since July 2010. Since then, we've had 4 miscarriages (October 2010, December 2010, April 2011, September 2011). My ob/gyn thought the cause is probably low progesterone levels, but sent me to a specialist for a 2nd opinion. In May 2011, I started seeing an RE who discovered that I have (now had) a septate uterus. I had the surgery to correct that and was tried again in August. I got my BFP Aug 24th. I had blood work drawn on August 26th and my beta was 222, progesterone was 31 (from LMP, I was 4w2d). I had more blood work done on August 29th, my beta was 614, progesterone 25 (from LMP, I was 4w5d). The nurse said the lowering progesterone was fine. On September 7th, I had more blood work done and an ultrasound since I was 6w exactly from LMP. My beta was 2954 and progesterone was 16. She was concerned about my beta, but said progesterone was fine. With the ultrasound, we saw the gestational sac & yolk sac. The gestational sac measured 5w2d. I went home and looked at my calendar and suddenly remembered telling DH on Aug 12th that I may be ovulating later than I thought based on my CM. So, with that being said...the measuring of 5w2d seemed ok. Even though the beta was still lower than we'd like, it wasn't terrible seeing that I was almost a week behind schedule. So, September 13th I have another ultrasound and we see the same gestational sac and yolk sac with a tiny little fetal pole that measured 6w1d (which was right on schedule with the last scan we had). When the nurse zoomed in, we saw the little heart beat flicker...but, we still couldn't hear it. She counted the beats and it was at 109. She said it's still early...but, it seems to be going well. No blood work that time. I was cautiously excited at that point. Saturday, I started spotting. Called the emergency line and 45 min later they called back and by that time I was bleeding with a few clots (TMI) and some red blood. I knew what was happening as I have been through 3 miscarriages already. She told me that it was normal...that 25% of pregnancies have bleeding. Well, to me...no that's not normal if you only bleed when you have miscarriages. I have never bled before without a miscarriage. To top things off...the lady never documented anything in my chart so when I go in today to make sure I passed everything...the nurse was excited for me to hear the heartbeat. I was not happy with the other nurse. Once the doctor came in...he wasn't happy either. I really think it was due to my always lowering progesterone levels. Praying for my next pregnancy to stick. He wants me to test in 2 weeks to make sure I get a negative test. And once my October cycle starts...he is going to monitor me throughout the next one to see when I ovulate, conceive, & implant...and then throughout the first trimester. Sorry for the novel!
I pray that each one of you ladies have conceive successfully and have sticky little beans. Loads of baby dust to you all!
