My niece gets here tomorrow!!!

I haven't seen here since right after she was born and she's nine months now. I spent the first two weeks of her life with her because my brother in law was deployed and my sister was by herself. It was so great to be able to spend that time with her and it made me so baby hungry. I got to stay up with her while my sister got some sleep and got lots of snuggling time. It was a doubly great thing because my sister had to have a hysterectomy when she was 26 and they'd been trying to adopt for a long time and they finally got Hannah!

So I really, really can't wait to see and hold her. But I know that I'm going to bawl my eyes out. I'm so weepy right now anyway and the combination of seeing how much she's changed and missing the little one that I should be feeling moving around inside me right now is going to make me a mess! I'm kind of worried that I'm going to freak her out and make her not want to be near me!

I'm sure it will be just fine... and really it's much more excitement than anything else. I just knew y'all would understand the double edged sword...

I totally understand, Becky! It will be a very emotional time for you...both good and bad. Your niece is lucky to have such a loving aunt!! I haven't seen my niece since she was 10 months old...she's 4 now. I cry every time I talk to her on the phone or see pictures/videos of her. They are such precious miracles! My heart breaks for your sister and the fact that she had to have a hysterectomy so young. I'm really glad they were able to adopt!

Enjoy your time with them and cherish every second! I'm sure you will!
