With only 1 tube, getting pg will be a little harder than with 2, if you don't O from that particular ovary, the egg won't descend from that tube. I am not sure of the statistics, but I don't think 1 ectopic puts you at risk for another, but maybe someone else can better answer that question.

I know if the tube was removed you are at a reduced risk for it vs, and ectopic where the tube was saved.
Chances of getting pregnant I would say depend on which side you O'd on.

Did they change anything about your Mirena after your ectopic?

If you are one that feels when you O, some people can tell which side, I used to be able to, but after my most recent loss, I have just been crampy, not able to tell which side.

I know that I can't tell which side I O from, I just feel crampy and funny; but I have heard that your ovaries switch sides each time...

I wish I could offer some advice, but I really don't know enough about it. Has your doctor been able to give you any insight?

((HUGS)) I wish I had more insight to give you but I've never had an ectopic. I would call your doctor and see if they can sit down and explain things to you.

I had an ectopic in May and I did not need surgery so I still have my tubes. I think my DR said my % is 8 of it happening again.
I will bet your chances are lower because a side effect of IUD's is ectopic because it wont allow it to attach where it is supposed to so it creaps into the tubes sometimes. I had that IUD and had it removed after 8 months I did not like what it was doing to my body, So I am glad you got it removed.

I am now pregnant again and we found out it came from the side I had an ectopic and so far things seem ok.

I have heard when you ovulate it can come from random sides... and that must be true because if they swapped every other side then I would have ovulated from my left not my right.

I am so sorry you had to experiance this. It was the worse pain I have ever felt and then knowing what I had to do in order to live was pretty hard mentally.

Hi there,
I also had an ectopic, mine was back in April this year. Mine ruptured and I had to have surgery, but she tried to keep the tube intact since we were ttc. Every time you have an ectopic you have a 10-15% increased chance of another ectopic in either side (I don't know why that is for either side, but that's what my doctor has been saying, and actually one of my doctors said it was a 20-25% chance, which I think is a bit high). I just had an HSG to check my tubes and it turns out my left tube (the one I had the ectopic in) is completely blocked, so she might as well have taken it out, so it's a good thing yours is already gone. Really hope things work out for you. Good luck!

Oh I forgot that the 8% number I was given was because I had the shot to disolve the ectopic and it worked so I avoided surgery... but if you have surgery you do have a higher %. ... I think I was told 14%

I could be wrong about ovaries swapping back and forth, someone told me that once, but they could have been wrong. I'm certainly no expert!!
