First off, thanks to those who offered responses and support. Being a part of JM has made this whole thing a lot easier.

Here's my latest update. I went in for my ultrasound yesterday afternoon. After talking to the rad tech about my situation, she not only did an abdominal ultrasound but also a transvaginal ultrasound. I don't think that was on the doctor's order. But when I told her that this was miscarriage-related, I think she took it upon herself to do one. I'm glad she did because I don't think a regular ultrasound would have provided any answers. She was incredibly kind about the whole thing and told me that they would have the results over to my doctor before the end of the day. She advised me to call the doctor's office before they close.

I called at 4:40 (they close at 5), and I asked the receptionist if I could leave a message for my doctor. She put me on hold, and she never returned. When I finally hung up and called back, no one answered. I honestly don't mind waiting to talk to my doctor about the results, but it's just the way the receptionist treated me.

So I don't really have a report yet, but I'm sure I will soon. I called the doctor's office this morning and left my work phone # in addition to my cell # and told them not to call my home phone! I'm most anxious to know how this will impact my cycle. I don't think my hCG progressed as quickly as it should have, so I have a feeling it will leave my system faster than a typical pregnancy as well. The bleeding with this miscarriage was pretty heavy but only lasted two days. I barely even had spotting yesterday.

Now I'm just waiting for the call to see if everything on the ultrasound looked good. And I'm sure my doctor is going to want me to come in early next week for another blood draw. I also really want to talk to her about possible causes. I have a short LP (only 5 days two cycles ago). I started taking B6, ovulated a day earlier, and got pregnant. So I don't know if it was the short LP that led to the egg not being able to implant properly, or if it was something else. It was very early, so I'm just wondering if it's the LP thing, which I know will take time to address but is easily fixable.

I am so sorry for what you have been through. I hope your u/s comes back fine and everything has been removed. Are they suppose to call you today with results? that would anger me also if the receptionist put me on hold and never came back. I might mention it to the doctor when you talk to him. they should understand what you are going through and respond a bit better.

I don't know how to extend the LP but I do believe that 5 days is too short. I would definitely talk to your doctor about ways to extend it. Hopefully some of the other ladies will have a better answer on that for you. Again I'm so sorry for what you have been through and I'm so glad the ladies on JM have been able to help you. I know I couldn't have made it through with them.

Thanks, Melissa. You can bet I'm going to mention the receptionist thing to the doctor. She is supposed to call me back today. If I don't hear by lunchtime, I'll be calling again.

My short LP is exactly why my DH and I were so surprised when I conceived so early. It was only our third cycle of TTC. I discovered the short LP in cycle #2, so I started taking B6, which is a natural way to lengthen LP. I have heard from a lot of women that it made a huge difference and they were able to eventually conceive and stick a pregnancy. I know I ovulated a day earlier, and I obviously got pregnant. I lost the pregnancy at 18 DPO, though, so I worry that it was the short LP. It could have totally been something else, though. Perhaps the doctor can shed some light onto that.

I'm still taking the B6, so it's just a matter of waiting through another cycle or two to see how much of an impact it has. I know that there are prescription drugs that can help with my short LP, too, but I'd rather try to address it naturally if possible.

I hope your doc calls you soon and can shed some light on everything! I would have been upset too if the receptionist never came back...the least they could have done was come back on and say, I am sorry, but the doctor is out or something. The only thing that would make it remotely ok is if she tried to transfer you and accidentally dropped the call, unless you gave her your name and number? Not trying to make excuses, but I know personally that that can happen

Anyways, KUP! Glad we were somewhat helpful the other day

I really hope you get answers soon. This is a really interesting story though, thank you for sharing. I'm curious to know if you can extend the LP.
