Hey ladies. Just a little info.. DH and I have been TTC #1 since September 2010. We got our first BFP this past weekend. I woke up on Monday with some slight bleeding. Dr had me come in for bloodwork Monday and Wednesday to check my levels. They called with the results yesterday, and Monday it was 27 and yesterday it was 23. So I had a miscarriage I never thought it would be this hard to deal with. I wouldn't wish this pain upon anyone.

I have a question.. I was only 4 weeks and 3 days pregnant when I started to bleed. Any of you other ladies who have had early miscarriages, how long did you bleed for? And how heavy was it? Did you have any sort of weird pains, or just cramps? All day today, off and on, I've been having severe twinges of pain like near where my left ovary is. Just wondering if this is normal? Sorry this is so long, and so many questions. Thanks for reading ladies.

I m/c about 2 weeks ago at 6w4d. I had backache leading up to the m/c and some cramping and gas like pains the night before I started spotting.
I bled for about 4-5 days (medium flow with lining and blueberry sized clots w/ exception of when I passed the sac) and spotted 2 more. So about a week from start to finish. I didn't have any weird pains, just bad cramping. When I actually passed the sac the cramps were so bad I could barely walk
I hope things go quickly and aren't painful for you.

First off, sorry you're joining this board, but you've found an awesome support group of women who know exactly how you feel.

As for your questions, I started my m/c at 4 weeks, 4 days, so I can relate really well. I actually had cramps most of the night before and while sleeping. I spotted that morning, but I didn't start bleeding until the afternoon, and it was heavy. I had very bad cramping (the worst menstrual cramps ever) that afternoon for about three hours. After I got through those few hours, I just had minor crampiness most of the next day. I bled very heavily the second day as well. Unlike a normal period for me, there was a lot more clotting. By the third and fourth days, I was just spotting. So it lasted pretty much the length of a normal period for me, but it was a lot heavier. I had a follow-up exam exactly one week later, and the doctor noted that I did still have some blood mixed in with my CM, but I hadn't noticed it by that point.

That happened just last cycle. I continued to chart the whole time. So you can click on my ticker below to see the progression of my pregnancy cycle and this subsequent cycle. Fortunately, my hCG dropped back to 0 quickly. So DH and I decided to go ahead and try again this cycle. I'm gearing up to O pretty soon (I think).

My doctor told me that the next couple of cycles could be irregular. The biggest difference I have noted is my temps. They were slow to come down after the m/c, and they are about a degree higher than they were at this point last cycle. I also, unfortunately, got a yeast infection, which the doctor figured was a result of the crazy hormone fluctuations.

Sorry if that was TMI, but I just thought since our circumstances were so similar that you might benefit from hearing it all. I'd be happy to answer any specific questions if you have them.

And, once again, I'm so sorry you're going through this.

Oh no, I'm so sorry! I can relate as well because I also has a loss early on. I didn't notice a huge difference in the bleeding or cramps after my loss. It lasted as long as my normal periods do. I know it's not the same for everyone, but the cycle right after my loss I O'd 8 days later than I normally do. My last 2 cycles have been pretty much right back to normal which is very lucky. I'm so sorry that you had to join us here, but these ladies are just amazing and there is no better place to be.

Just lurking here but like Jennifer, my early miscarriages (5 weeks or less) were pretty much like a period. After the first one, I had the best cycle ever--my chart was beautiful! I'm currently in the cycle after my second chemical pregnancy. I can tell you that I ovulated a couple of days later than normal but other than that, things have been the same as always. Sorry you are going through this

((HUGS)) I am so very sorry for your loss. With my early losses it was basically like a period only heavier with some *tmi* clots. I also had some pretty nasty cramping.

HUGS i'm so sorry for your loss.

I'm just finishing a natural m/c that while it occurred at close to 9wks, growth had stopped around 6wks so it's more like an early m/c than the dates might indicate. For me, it was not very painful (cramps were mild, like a period) and bleeding while continuous for me for weeks at its worst was only like a period with a lot of tiny clots. I thought i'd share my experience b/c I had been told by Dr & friends to expect a LOT of pain cramping wise and a lot more bleeding than I did, so I was preparing for a D&C and was shocked when final u/s revealed I was almost done m/cing on my own...so you might experience the strong cramping & bleeding, or you could have a more mild experience like I did.

Lots of HUGS for you....KUP on how you're doing.

So sorry for your loss.
For me my early losses were heavy periods, they only lasted 4-5 days.

It totally makes sense. I hope your hCG drops quickly and you can feel like things are getting back to normal. KUP. Hope you feel better soon.
