Hi everyone! I have been on TTC your first, but I have had a loss, and sometimes I lurk on this board.

A little about me.... My name is Ashley I'm 27, I got pregnant with my then BF, Marc, but I lost the baby after 11weeks. I went in for a normal check up and they couldn't find the heartbeat,so they immediately sent me for a level 2 u/s. the image of my little bean on the screen is still in my head. The worst part was that I went alone. I had a D&C the next day, bc I could not wait for it to happen naturally. Needless to say, it was a hard time. However, I'm a very positive person, I know my angel is looking down bc the first day back to work, there was a lady bug watching me get ready on my counter! Lady bugs are my lucky charm!

Marc and I, took this loss, and turned it to something positive by getting engaged and getting married in July. He has been my best friendfor15 years. He has been married once, and has a 6 year old daughter, Riley, who I am a proud step mom to.

We are now TTC , this will b cycle #3. After the D&C my cycles quickly got back to a normal 27-28 days. The first month TTC my cycle was 35 days, of course making me think I was late. But eventually got my AF. Second cycle the same... The weird thing is, the extra week in my "new" cycle, my cramps and nausea has been awful, almost like my body wants to get AF but can't.

I guess I have some questions for anyone who has been thru something similar...
Has anyone had a similar thing happen with their cycle ? Could this be from the m/c &/or D&C?

Sorry for the rambling...but thanks for listening!
Ashley

I didn't have D&C's with my two m/c's, but I can tell you that it took at least 3 cycles after my first for things to truly be back to normal. The second and 3rd cycle after m/c were far worse than the first in my experience in terms of cramping/bleeding. Like you, the length of my cycles was messed up after my second m/c. I have been ovulating super early, and my last cycle was really short. I'm actually going in for a vaginal u/s this next week just to rule out any physical issues. I would think that might be an option for you as well?

Hi and welcome to TTCAL. I'm so sorry for your loss! It's such a heartbreaking thing to go through. The women on this board are wonderful and we are all here for each other. I hope that you find the same support that I have found here. I'd be lost without the women here!

A m/c can definitely mess up your cycle for a while. Did you chart your temps the other cycles or is this your first doing that? I really think that helps figure out what's going on. Have you talked to your OB about the really bad cramps/nausea the week before AF? It might be worth mentioning. Doctors are there to help us so don't hesitate to mention something that isn't normal to you. If there is something going on, it's best to get it checked out.

I love your lady bug story! I absolutely believe in signs like that and I think you're right...it was your angel baby looking after you! I hope that it was able to give you some comfort.

I haven't had that exactly....but...after I had my 2nd baby, my cycles were erratic and now come with the added bonus of extreme nausea and headaches for about 2-3 days before AF starts...its so strong I get very confused and don't know if its AF, or pregnancy! It's my new normal.

You didn't go through the entire pregnancy, but you were still pregnant for some time...so maybe the same kind of think happens..your cycles change? Lots of people have different cycles after babies and m/c/

I have always had 32 day cycles, even after my D&C and other 9 losses. But since I had my son 7 months ago my cycles have been all wonky! My last one was 48 days! I just O'd on CD 25 this time which should make this one 39 days (if I don't end up pregnant) I think it is because I am breastfeeding though...

i am so sorry for your loss HUGS

My cycles were completely messed up for months after the D&C i had with my 1st loss (time will tell if same thing happens with this 2nd loss, but this one was completed naturally). I also found cramping and bleeding to be worse than it had been pre-loss, but around the 4th cycle it got more normal and I got pregnant with Savannah shortly thereafter.

Good luck with this cycle...hopefully your body is finding its new normal and you'll get a BFP soon!

Thank you everyone, it is nice to talk to woman who really understand. I guess I have been under stress lately so maybe that could be what's going on. I only just started taking bbt so, I'm really just learning about my cycles. I have a colposcopy in December bc of an abnormal pap, I will mention it the dr then if things don't appear to b back to norm. I'm still hoping to get a BFP before then tho!

Sorry for your loss! My cycles have also changed after my 2nd trimester loss. I've had more pain and cramping in the days before AF and the bleeding has been really heavy for the first day or two. I've also had slightly longer cycles as well and last cycle I made it to 40 days and really hoped for pregnancy, but AF finally showed up. I guess it's normal for the body to do something different after a pregnancy sometimes.

Welcome to the board, so sorry for your loss!

It also took me several cycles to get back to normal after my D&C. Even after a natural m/c it sometimes took a few cycles to get regular again.
Hope things settle down fro you soon and your wait is short!

After my D&C my cycles didn't seem off really. I wasn't really keeping that close of a track though.

Welcome and sorry for your loss. I have had 3 m/c and just recently (yesterday) joined this board.
